A little weird idea for topic but something I think about from time to time, Have any or how close are your fave prolific artists to having released an album or started an era in every suffix numbered year? It dosent affect the quality of the output in anyway, It's just sometimes I think about the pattern's some artist's have year wise and think 'they havent released an Studio album era in a '5' year yet'

    For example Madonna:

If we only count the studio albums:
    0 - Music (2000)
    1 -
    2 - Erotica (1992) MDNA (2012)
    3 - Madonna (1983) American Life (2003)
    4 - Like A Virgin (1984) Bedtime Stories (1994)
    5 - Confessions On a Dance Floor (2005) Rebel Heart (2015)
    6 - True Blue (1986)
    7 -
    8 - Ray Of Light (1998) Hard Candy (2008)
    9 - Like A Prayer (1989) Madame X (2019)

She only needs to release a Studio album in a 1 or 7 ending year to complete the set.

Taylor Swift has an interesting pattern so far across two decades also, it was 2 year gaps in even numbered years up until 1989 then she skipped over into odd numbered 2017 for reputation then now a 2 year gap between it and Lover. meaning she only now needs a release in a 1, 3 and 5 year to complete the set.

Also some album era's (see November/December releases Such as Gwen Stefani and BEYONCE) can overlap into the next year with singles, although the initial release was at the tail of the previous year (or they have a re-release in the next).

Does anyone else think about this sometimes? Haha.

This of course would require artists to have released at least 10 studio albums (discounting soundtrack albums, Re-releases, Greatest Hits, EP's etc.) But also you can see some patterns in the releases over at least two decades, For Example Pink has been very light on releases during the 4 and 5 years in the 00's and 10's (If you discount the You + Me album).

    Anyways...

I can't believe someone made a thread for this because I think about this all the time - often when I'm bored at work.

French singer Zazie has to be one of the most consistent artists out there releasing albums virtually every 3 years for the past 25 years. If she had stuck to her normal pattern and released Encore Heureux in 2016, then she'd have a full set!

    0 - Za7ie (2010)
    1 - La Zizanie (2001)
    2 - Je Tu Ils (1992)
    3 - Cyclo (2013)
    4 - Rodéo (2004)
    5 - Zen (1995) & Encore Heureux (2015)
    6 -
    7 - Totem (2007)
    8 - Made In Love (1998) & Essenciel (2018)
    9 -

One of my other favourite singers Mylène Farmer appears to be most productive during '5' and '8' numbered years and unproductive during '3', '4' and '7' years.

    0 - Bleu Noir (2010)
    1 - L'autre (1991)
    2 - Monkey Me (2012)
    3 -
    4 -
    5 - Anamorphosée (1995), Avant Que L'ombre (2005) & Interstellaires (2015)
    6 - Cendres de Lune (1986)
    7 -
    8 - Ainsi Soit-Je (1988), Point de Suture (2008) & Désobéissance (2018)
    9 - Innamoramento (1999)

On another note, she seems to enjoy touring with '9' years having toured in 1989, 1999, 2009 and 2019.

    Kylie Minogue:

0 - Rhythm Of Love, Light Years, Aphrodite
    1 - Let’s Get To It, Fever
    2 -
    3 - Body Language
4 - Kylie Minogue, Kiss Me Once
    5 - Kylie Christmas
    6 -
    7 - Impossible Princess, X
    8 - Kylie, Golden
    9 - Enjoy Yourself

So for studio albums, the middle of the decade is historically a rest period for Kylie. If we count compilations and re-issues then she hits every number, especially the number 2.
