Weakest round so far for me. Liked Matt Cardle the best.

1 Kylie Minogue – Chasing Ghosts

    4 Betsy - Lost & Found
3 Los Lobos – Shakin Shakin Shakes
2 Dennis Lloyd - Never Go Back
    1 Natalija Bunke - Lietuje

    4 Michelle Williams - Tightrope
    3 SHAED - ISOU
    2 Andra Day - Burn
1 Kindness - Hard to Believe (feat. Jazmine Sullivan)

4 Matt Cardle - Anyone Else

    Wow, I'm doing okay!!

I think this round will ultimately either be very good for me or very bad, as my song definitely won't do it for everyone. I personally love my song and it was a discovery for me at UKMIX also in another contest so who knows.

I don’t really remember the song now, but I remember that I didn’t hate it, I just thought others in the same group were better. That’s often the case in this game - just because I give a song only 1 or 2 points it doesn’t necessarily mean that I don’t like it at all.

But I actually thought the same with @Tansike in the previous round, I was sure he’s gonna like my song because he liked my previous ones as well and I thought it was rather similar, genre-wise.

Same situation here. Your entry wasn't bad, it was actually my 8th most favorite song in the third round (better than bottom 2 of Group A/B and better than the whole Group C).

You can have a strong song that still gets lost in a strong group or have a weak song that benefits from being in a weak group.

    GROUP A

04 - Cyndi Lauper - Same 'ol Story
03 - Eurythmics - Beethoven (I Love To Listen To)
    02 - Rich Brian - 100 Degrees
01 - Kylie Minogue Chasing Ghosts

That Cyndi song reminds me of my late teens, it's a real classic tune for me.

    GROUP B

    04 - Betsy - Lost & Found
03 - Los Lobos Shakin Shakin Shakes
02 - Dennis Lloyd - Never Go Back
    01 - Natalija Bunke - Lietuje

Betsy is awesome and I have a soft spot for that Los Lobos song, I've heard it before and is pretty naff but I do like it.

    GROUP C

    04 - Andra Day - Burn
    03 - Michelle Williams - Tightrope
02 - Kindness - Hard to Believe (feat. Jazmine Sullivan)
    01 - SHAED - ISOU

Aside from SHAED, this is a really strong group.

    GROUP D

    04 - Mamamoo - Starry Night
    03 - Matt Cardle - Anyone Else
    02 - Ysanygo - Imprinted
01 - Yuna - (Not) The Love Of My Life

    GROUP A
4 - Cyndi Lauper - Same 'ol Story [Immediately loved this!]
3 - Rich Brian - 100 Degrees [Pretty good and nice video]
2 - Eurythmics - Beethoven (I Love To Listen To) [Solid, but not one of their gems]
1 - Kylie Minogue Chasing Ghosts Not feeling this]

GROUP B [Ugh, I really liked all four songs in this group!]
4 - Dennis Lloyd - Never Go Back [This is fantastic! He's got such a good voice, the track is really catchy and has a great melody while the video is beautiful. A great package!]
3 - Natalija Bunke - Lietuje [I think I know who submitted this and this is probably my favorite song from that Mixtape so far, sounds like a huge guilty pleasure]
2 - Betsy - Lost & Found [Love the voice, but the song is somehow not strong enough for this voice, if that makes sense. Still very enjoyable]
1 - Los Lobos Shakin Shakin Shakes [Usually not my genre at all, but this was cool and I wanted to dance along the song, that's a good sign! However, this is unlucky to be in a strong group]

    GROUP C
4 - SHAED - ISOU [Already really enjoyed their "Trampoline" (with or without Zayn) and this is yet another great tune from them! They definitely deserve way more mainstream attention. Definitely the song that matches the most with my taste in this group]
3 - Andra Day - Burn [Only the second song I've heard by Andra and it's a 2/2 so far, I probably need to check her album out at this point. This was very strong]
2 - Michelle Williams - Tightrope [solid track, nothing outstanding and nothing I'd skip if I ever hear it again]
1 - Kindness - Hard to Believe (feat. Jazmine Sullivan) [Interesting, but not really my thing]

    GROUP D [another strong group!]
4 - Mamamoo - Starry Night [Why did I never heard/saw this before? This sounds absolutely fantastic and I just adore that music video. This could have been a big hit for me last year if I would have discovered it on time :(]
3 - Yuna - (Not) The Love Of My Life [This is beautiful! Really enjoyed it]
2 - Matt Cardle - Anyone Else [At first I thought it's a forgettable radio-pop-rock track you've already heard a thousand times, but I have to admit it got a great melody and it gets stuck in your head very quickly. And he's cute]
1 - Ysanygo - Imprinted [I enjoyed it, but unfortunately the weakest song in the group for me]

    GROUP A

4 Cyndi Lauper - Same 'ol Story (Solid song, clearly the best one in this fairly weak group.)
3 Kylie Minogue – Chasing Ghosts (I honestly didn’t even really like this, but it benefits from being in a weak group.)
2 Rich Brian - 100 Degrees (Not my thing.)
1 Eurythmics - Beethoven (I Love To Listen To) (This was simply boring and forgettable imo.)

    GROUP B

4 Betsy - Lost & Found (She definitely has an interesting voice and the song is enjoyable too.)
3 Natalija Bunke - Lietuje (It sounds kinda cheap, but at least it’s catchy.)
2 Los Lobos – Shakin Shakin Shakes (Genre-wise, songs like this are usually not my thing, but it actually turned out to be quite alright.)
1 Dennis Lloyd - Never Go Back (When I heard the first verse I thought I’d hate this, but the chorus was better than expected. The other three songs were still better though.)

    GROUP C

4 SHAED - ISOU (A really good song. They’re way too underrated.)
3 Andra Day - Burn (This was pretty enjoyable overall.)
2 Michelle Williams - Tightrope (A solid ballad - nothing more, nothing less.)
1 Kindness - Hard to Believe (feat. Jazmine Sullivan) (Not terrible, but not particularly great either.)

    GROUP D

4 Mamamoo - Starry Night (Very nice! A beautiful video as well.)
3 Yuna - (Not) The Love Of My Life (A pretty good song, too. Almost on par with Mamamoo.)
2 Matt Cardle - Anyone Else (Nothing overwhelming, but it wasn’t bad.)
1 Ysanygo - Imprinted (By far the weakest song in this rather strong group.)

GROUP A - liked all the songs, but there was a big gap between the Top 3 and Rich Brian.
    4 Eurythmics
    3 Kylie Minogue
    2 Cyndi Lauper
    1 Rich Brian

    GROUP B
    4 Betsy
    3 Los Lobos
    2 Dennis Lloyd
    1 Natalija Bunke

GROUP C - three really good songs here too.
    4 Andra Day
    3 Michelle Williams
    2 Kindness
    1 SHAED

GROUP D - only enjoy Matt here, the other three were very weak.
    4 Matt Cardle
    3 Yamamoo
    2 Yuna
    1 Ysanygo

Oh, looks like this will be my worst round so far. Really surprising how the two songs I didn't expect to do well did very well and vice versa!

GROUP A (Eurythmics was a bit WTF and left field, the video helps elevate the concept its going for. Cyndi's was a jam, I enjoy the title track from the album. Bottom two were catchy. Kylie's may have made a good B-side if they were still as much of a thing in the KMO era).
04 Cyndi Lauper - Same 'ol Story
03 Eurythmics - Beethoven (I Love To Listen To)
    02 Rich Brian - 100 Degrees
01 Kylie Minogue – Chasing Ghosts

GROUP B (top 3 were about on par for me in different ways, hard to split, Betsy and Natalija had great choruses, Dennis' was catchy and the Los Lobos one a nice listen).
    04 Betsy - Lost & Found
03 Dennis Lloyd - Never Go Back
    02 Natalija Bunke - Lietuje
01 Los Lobos – Shakin Shakin Shakes

GROUP C (this one was a bit like Group B - harder top 3 and one little bit more bottom for me. Andra's meandered a little bit to get to the chorus, otherwise a nice listen. Another Showman song and the middle two had nice dance kinda vibes).
    04 Michelle Williams - Tightrope
    03 SHAED - ISOU
02 Kindness - Hard to Believe (feat. Jazmine Sullivan)
    01 Andra Day - Burn

GROUP D (Matt was catchy and great chorus. Love the groove of the Ysanygo track. Yuna's was nice and the backing music of the Mamamoo one reminded me a little of something else).
04 Matt Cardle - Anyone Else
    03 Ysanygo - Imprinted
02 Yuna - (Not) The Love Of My Life
    01 Mamamoo - Starry Night

4 Eurythmics - Beethoven (I Love To Listen To) - What a great era this was for them. I love the metallic clangs of the music.
3 Cyndi Lauper - Same 'ol Story - Surprised this came out in 2008, sounds like she could have recorded it 20 years earlier. Fun disco vibe.
    2. Rich Brian - 100 Degrees - I thought this had some nice bounce to it. Shame he's tossed in with a bunch of 80s icons.
1 Kylie Minogue Chasing Ghosts - Not crazy about Kylie's voice on this.

4 Los Lobos Shakin Shakin Shakes - They really kill that instrumental at the end of the song, don't they?
3 Natalija Bunke - Lietuje - This has the Kylie sound I feel was missing from her song in the last set.
2 Dennis Lloyd - Never Go Back - The video really helped with liking this song. Enjoyed this one a lot.
1 Betsy - Lost & Found - Guess I'm in the minority, but never been a fan of Betsy's deep vocals.

    4 Andra Day - Burn - I mean... I'm obsessed with Hamilton.
3 Michelle Williams - Tightrope - Another musical song! So unfair to put it with Burn! Sorry Michelle, this is awesome, but I mean, Hamilton.
2 SHAED - ISOU - Better than i thought it would be after that slow intro.
1 Kindness - Hard to Believe (feat. Jazmine Sullivan) - This isn't terrible, but I think Jazmine detracts from it and it's paired with the two musical songs.

4 Matt Cardle - Anyone Else - Not enthusiastic about this either, but it's the best of the group.
3 Ysanygo - Imprinted - Their blending of voice is not bad.
2 Yuna - (Not) The Love Of My Life - I'll rank it higher because I enjoyed the clothes in the video, but have the same complaint as the Mamamoo song.
1 Mamamoo - Starry Night - This just seemed to stay stuck in one gear through most of the song.

I knew this song would flop, but if one person discovered it and enjoyed it then my work here is done. They deserve more than 600 views on Youtube too.

I'm more surprised that Slayyyter bombed in the previous round, I thought that was my most UKMIX friendly entry . Y'all are gonna hate some of my future entries.

I'm also surprised Madonna won the previous round. There's a good song in there somewhere, but the track is clearly unfinished and was difficult to listen to due to not being mixed or mastered.

    A
04 Rich Brian - 100 Degrees (Rich Brian has been delivering tonnes of bangers over the past few years. The whole 88rising crew have tbh. This is one of his more pop leaning tracks, with an equally fun and creative music video to match)
03 Eurythmics - Beethoven (I Love To Listen To) [I've never heard this before and really love it. It's an abstract take on late 80s electronic music with a slight almost new jack swing feel in parts. The spoken-word element makes this the pre-Justify My Love moment I didn't know I needed. Embarrassingly it took me a few minutes to realise that was Annie Lennox in the music video, which is incredible. All old music videos should be uploaded in such high quality. The mid-century furniture in the apartment is so dated it's come back in style]
02 Cyndi Lauper - Same 'ol Story (this is a good piece of 2000s dance-pop. Could see it fitting in well on GTAIV)
01 Kylie Minogue - Chasing Ghosts (the only weak song in a strong group. Kylie's voice gets lost amongst the tinny instrumentation. I can see why it didn't make her album)

    B
04 Betsy - Lost & Found (ok I know who entered this track based on comments in this thread. Thriller has definitely entered this in contests on UKMIX before, and it's easy to see why. Betsy's unique voice on top of a soaring chorus backed with strings is a recipe for success)
03 Dennis Lloyd - Never Go Back (strong pop songwriting, despite being a little on the "let's make something that works for the Spotify algorithm" side. the instrumentation in the final chorus makes it more interesting)
02 Natalija Bunke - Lietuje (getting 2009 trashy clup track vibes from this. That's not necessarily a bad thing. I like the verses, but the chorus is a little jarring)
01 Los Lobos - Shakin Shakin Shake (is this a classic or do I just recognise it because it sounds like something else? can see the appeal, but it's not something I'd ever play out of choice)

    C
04 Kindness - Hard to Believe (feat. Jazmine Sullivan) [like a lost 80s gem that was found and tweaked for 2019. I love how this track builds, with a proper intro and outro and progressively more rich instrumentation throughout. Jazmine has one of the best voices in the business, and she certainly isn't wasted here. Kindness' outro gives me James Blake vibes and is a welcome contrast to the rest of the track]
03 SHAED - ISOU (a strong pop song in every regard. the vocals, production and chorus all impressed me. as always, I loved the bass guitar)
02 Andra Day - Burn (good song, filled with a lot of emotion. however some of the lines feel a little bit too wordy, and the production feels a little flat and lacks the conviction of the vocal performance)
01 Michelle Williams - Tightrope (not the Michelle Williams I was hoping for. I've hated everything I've heard from The Greatest Showman, and this doesn't do anything to change that. this is the exact kind of forced emotive ballad that gives me a headache)

    D
04 Yuna - (Not) The Love of My Life (everything Yuna does is so lush. This is exactly the kind of R&B songwriting and production that I adore. The fact that Yuna has such a tender voice just makes it even stronger)
03 Ysanygo - Imprinted (this is cute. the R&B backbone of the track meshes well with the future classic-esque electronic elements, which give the song a hyper-pop almost Y2K shine)
02 Mamamoo - Starry Night (file beside Geri's Mi Chico Latino and Marina's Baby. breezy mediterranean sounding pop that would sound perfect during summer. is the R&B sounding part at the end an outro or a preview of a different song? it's the best part tbh)
01 Matt Cardle - Anyone Else (bland)

    GROUP A = 8.425/10
4 Cyndi Lauper - Same 'ol Story: 9.2/10 - really solid! It got progressively better. Surprisingly impressive vocals, too!
    3 Rich Brian - 100 Degrees: 9/10 - a bop! I didn't expect to enjoy this as much as I did!
2 Kylie Minogue Chasing Ghosts: 8/10 - different sound for Kylie, but I liked it.
1 Eurythmics - Beethoven (I Love To Listen To): 7.5/10 - cute track. I enjoyed it.

    GROUP B = 7.65/10
    4 Betsy - Lost & Found: 8.3/10 - I like the Cher-esque vocals!
3 Los Lobos Shakin Shakin Shakes: 7.8/10 - catchy, but repetitive.
2 Dennis Lloyd - Never Go Back: 7.5/10 - the early part of the track sounded quite Aloe Blacc-esque. This is okay.
    1 Natalija Bunke - Lietuje: 7/10 - nice.

    GROUP C = 7.65/10
4 Michelle Williams - Tightrope: 10/10 - one of the most romantic songs I've ever heard.
3 Andra Day - Burn: 7/10 - not bad, but a bit uneventful.
2 Kindness - Hard to Believe (feat. Jazmine Sullivan): 6.8/10 - boring, but not terrible.
    1 SHAED - ISOU: 6.8/10 - forgettable.

    GROUP D - 6.55/10
    4 Mamamoo - Starry Night: 8.2/10 - sleek!
3 Yuna - (Not) The Love Of My Life: 7/10 - boring, and I know she can do a lot better than this! "Crush" is sublime.
2 Ysanygo - Imprinted: 6/10 - chill, but it didn't do much for me.
1 Matt Cardle - Anyone Else: 5/10 - too plain for my liking.

    Trebor 4 3 2 4 13

RayRay had the biggest boost that round. Interestingly the 80's icons were somewhat polarising in the same group. We went from Madonna topping R3 with a LAP b-side, to Cyndi getting Song of the Round in R4, (with one of her songs from 2008) whilst Eurythmics finished middle of the pack and Kylie's concert interlude from this decade ended up bottom of the round.

The second Greatest Showman song finished a few spots above the previous one in R1; and The rest of us on the leaderboard moved slightly or retained the position from last round.

    ROUND 5 COMING SOON

Still in the top 5, doing pretty well. Discovered this song back in late 2013 when I was checking out Matt Cardle's stuff after his Porcelain album came out.

I'll post Round 5 tomorrow. Working on tallying as I go for the next rounds and pre-doing the next few rounds pic collages, might get this running a bit more efficiently.

Its actualy a preview from the song 'Be Calm', a solo by member Hwasa. Mamamoo did a project called 'four seasons' where they released four mini-albums and on each album one member had a solo.

Realy happy with my 5th place!
