I was lookin' for that too... It's a shame that until february, BPI was updating the website weekly with the new certifications, and since the date you said, they didn't updated anything

Thanks a lot for all the certifications guys I'm glad to see Keane going 7x Platinum, that's my favourite album from 2004

Btw, how many copies is a Gold/Platinum DVD? Am I wrong or BPI only started to certify Music videos this year?

You are right, BPI started certifying them in February this year.

As you can see from Hanboo's list, the BPI are certifying old music DVD titles - but they (or the record companies) are still catching up.

Rory Gallagher died 10 years ago.

Abba Gold going 13XP? Where does that rank in the all time top list?

Officially it ranks as Number Two in the all time list.

Number One is Oasis What's the Story at 14xP, the only album so far certified at that level.

There are a bunch of other albums with Abba on 13xP.

Can anyone post a list of UK certs over the 3 million level - that is 10xP?

I've always thought that 300,000 was a strange and awkward figure for a UK platinum award. Surely 250,000 or 200,000 would be more sensible. Either of these figures would be more in line with USA awards. The ratio between the USA and UK is 4:1 or 5:1 depending on whether you calculate it by population or the size of the record markets. Also either 250,000 or 200,000 add up to One Million!

There have always been problems with the UK list, though.

First, the record companies can be very slow to re-certify some titles. It costs them money I suppose, plus they are probably not that bothered. I'm certain, for instance, that several of the albums on 13xP have reached sales of 4.2m

Second, no album released before 1973 has been properly certified. EMI claim, I think, sales of around 4.8m for Sgt Pepper, which would make it 16xP.

    Just two things:

    - Till 18 February Oasis's "What's The Story" was not certified for 14xP, only in September 2004 "Definitely Maybe" went up to 7xP, all this according to BPI database

    - Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours" was certified 11xP (Eleven times Platinum, 3.3m sales) in November 2004. In the BPI database we can read 10xP, but that is a mistake because "Rumours" was already certified 10xP since January 2000

Morning glory has been certified as 14xplatinum.

i mean it sold 4.16m up untill 1999. and look at how many times it re-enters the the top75.

Mg has got to have sold over 4.3m i would think by now.
    I'm mad fer it!
