will it raise the bar of an ever declining Urban Music scene?.......
I sort of agree with you. 'Crazy in Love' pretty much carried the album.

No-one really thought much of the 2 singles before that.

There were some good tracks but DIL2 was not one of them. This song was down right spooky.

Is it just me or does Beyonce have a talent in making a love ballad sound scary?

Her first album was pretty average, but I expect her second album to be much better.

I actually really lover Dangerously In Love, the song, now, but only the DC version - despite the fact Kelly and Michelle only do backing vocals. But I still couldn't sit and watch a performance of it because Beyoncé just rips the ass out of it with the ad libs and extensive notes...my God...if I wanted the same note for about half an hour I'd get my computer to freeze on my whilst stuck on DIL.

Now it is Beyonces turn to be the first from DC to release an album! She is the real survivor...she works with the right people and everything she does has quality...
from the first moment she sang "I'm gonna work harder (what)
I'm a survivor (what), I'm gonna make it
...I knew she wil do it like that...
Beyonce is the one who works so hard on her career and she will fight all the haters out there....shes the one and only Entertainer of the Century!
    She really deserves it!Go B!

It's strange... I was listening to DIL this morning (having read all the comments in this thread) and some of the songs have actually grown on me (i.e "Signs"). And it's about time too - I've had it since it was released and NEVER got into it at all.

i want beyonce to have a huge pop ballad anthem on this record like a whitney or mariah. I know here range isnt even in comarison but she has the vocals to do a big pop ballad. btw, dangerously in love wasnt rushed, it was recorded over a years time.

I always thought the hidden track Daddy was the big pop ballad of DIL.
Its a fantastic tracka nd I always wondered why she hid it after B&C!

OMG, i cant wait for this album. I love Beyonce, she is one of the best entertainers out there..I can not stop watch the DVD, everyday i play it over and over. Beyonce just knows how to deliver and knows how to put on a show. Did you guys see how she sung "Free" and Through with love"... just brillant and very creative... a true Diva... cant wait to get the album. I dont even need to listen to any songs on the album or see any video before I buy it, cuz i know it will be hot regardless... only cuz its Beyonce.

I don't think Dangerously In Love is the masterpiece a lot of others here see it as (I guess I was expecting a lot more songs in the vein of "Crazy Of Love"), but I do think Beyonce established a flow of her own that was totally different from what you expected off Destiny's Child albums. In an era where solo careers are usually duds, she was able to hold her own. I am curious to see what's in store with the second album.
