How much has ''Life In Cartoon Motion'' sold in the U.K.? I had a prediction that it'll sell 1,000,000+ by the end of the year.

Yes it is back to #1 in France, with sales up to more than 30k this week. It sold already over 475k, its hard sales will top 500k next week, shipment must be already over 600k i.e. triple Platinum.

Probably, the album will be the best selling album of 2007 in France.

Not necessarly, this depends on Christophe Willem's Inventaire. This last will release a new (and strong) single soon, while Mika's third single Love Today is at the moment a huge success here.

The run of Mika in France is very interesting for majors, they released 2 singles at the same time, and both have been hugely successful and they push the album to massive weekly sales. Majors have to be courageous more often and act like this with more artists, 2 singles at the same time is not always equal to at least 1 flop.

Mika almost dominated the entire charts in France for the week july 15-21:
    - Album physical sales : N°1
    - Single physical sales: N°2 (last week was at N°1)
    - Album digital sales: N°1
    - Single digital sales: N°1 (plus 2 other songs in the top 10)

    That's massive!

Mika is storming right now with LICM in europe. I hope he releases Relax Take It Easy in the UK. I think it would do really well.

Love Today is taking off in the USA, it has got 55 spins in POP stations this week against 15 last week, 4 two weeks ago and 0 just 3 weeks ago. Relax is also climbing well on rythmic radios. The album jumped something like 34 places to #138 this week as well.
Maybe this time he will achieve to break really the US market? At least, he can try to go Gold which will not be *that* bad for a Libanese/French/English newcomer

In France, Life In Cartoon Motion is always #1. It has just become DIAMOND for 750,000 copies shipped, in exactly 6 months and without Christmas, I don't remember seing a such smash from a foreign act in the last few years

Very impressive but he's really everywhere, people might start to be fed up with him. Do you think that, with the Xmas sales, the album could end up at 1.5 million copies sold at the end of the chart run?

The album will for sure fly over 1m and if it is always top 10 at christmas it could be as high as 1.3m-1.5m. If it was released some years ago it should have sold over 2m at this rate!

    From Universal :

Mika’s debut album Life In Cartoon Motion is an international smash and has sold over 3.6 million copies worldwide. In the U.K. the new single “Happy Ending” is still growing and is in the Top 10, making Mika one of the few debut artists to have four consecutive top ten singles from their album in the U.K. The album has been certified Diamond in France and 2x Platinum in the U.K. Synchronization licensing for the record in the U.S. includes a major ABC promo for Ugly Betty, using a special version of his No. 1 U.K. hit of “Big Girls (You Are Beautiful),” titled “Hey Betty You Are Beautiful.” Mika’s singles have sold more than 3.8 million digital and physical copies. This debut record clearly establishes Mika as one of the world biggest international pop stars for 2007.
