I know she was in demo stages, but Mark Ronson (I believe it was him) destroyed them to protect her stuff that was incomplete from being polished and released.

a part of me respects that he did that, another part of me hates him because I would like to hear them. I get why he did it though and it was right by her. But I always think that if I was an artist that died, I would want the work that I haven't released to be released if it was all I had left.

Amy Winehouse died 6 years ago today, aged 27.

Still one of the biggest losses of the last decade in music.

Not sure how I feel about the hologram idea - apparently Mitch has turned it down for five years before now as he’s only now happy with the technology and concept behind what the shows would entail. Holograms of dead artists somewhat feels like a violation, but the curious part of me wonders if the experience would be really good.

I know what you mean, but the interesting part is that there is yet to be something that truly taps into it in the right sort of way. Personally I’m not into the idea of a hologram doing a new tour. But I’d be interested in something like a musical that has actual people in the show telling a story, but in a way that the 3D hologram of the artist gets to re-create their iconic moments using actual vocals. Something like Jersey Boys I suppose.

An interesting take on Amy Winehouse would be her life story told through the eyes of her parents, who watched from the sidelines as their daughter disappeared before their eyes... doing god only knows what when they weren’t around. The advantage of a hologram here then would be that technology would allow us to see a visible change in Amy, something you can’t achieve in any other way.

The only other thing I’d want to see holograms used for would be to recreate concert shows that have already happened. I would love to see (in 50 years) a hologram recreate Madonna’s Blond Ambition Tour, with the hologram copying exactly what Madonna did and how she looked in that moment in time. Footage exists, so I don’t see why a hologram couldn’t re-create the choreography. If the audio exists, I’d be open to one day seeing MJ’s ‘This Is It’ performed as a hologram show too.

But the idea of seeing a dead star doing a new show, with new staging and set lists? Not a fan.
    NO MEN IN ME.
