Superlative album - Warwick Avenue, Distant Dreamer, Stepping Stone, & Delayed Devotion are certified classics of this decade.
Only album track that I'm not quite fussed about is Serious, should have been replaced with Ob Boy.

"Breaking My Own Heart" is one of the best, and should have been on the CD!!

Friday midweeks have the album on 65k, exactly a 50% drop.
Pretty damn awesome if you ask me.
Duffy is my new Britney of Soul. She'll sell a million by next September. *obsesses*![]()
Warwick Avenue is a guaranteed #1 as well - everything she touches turns to gold!
She'll get to one million in no time, especially if it's still hanging around the high of the charts by Christmas.
Fantastic album, all the songs have great depth and warmth. It should do great for her if she picks good singles, but most songs are quite single-worthy anyway
Favourites: Stepping Stone & Delayed Devotion
You say that I must eat so many lemons, cos I am so Bitt-er

Excellent album, it's hard to choose a favourite track but the one I've been listening to most is Warwick Avenue.

I liked "Mercy" which grew on me so I ended up buying the album.
I think the album is fantastic! I probably like most of the album tracks more than I like the single. "Rockferry", "I'm Scared" and "Distant Dreamer" would be my favourites.
Blondini I agree with you about "Distant Dreamer", that's exactly what it sounds like!
but people who liked the uptempo mercy single will be really disappointed getting an album full of ballads. such a let down IMO :-?
i'm living in the future, so the presence is my past. my presence is a present, kiss my ass!
Nice album. I love her voice!
My favourites:
Rockferry
Warwick Avenue
Stepping Stone
Hanging On Too Long
Mercy
I'm Scared
Distant Dreamer

http://uk.news.launch.yahoo.com/dyna/ar ... =l_news_dmMTV News Exclusive | We quizzed the Mercy star about Estelle's Comments before her Teenage Cancer Trust show….
Duffy has responded to Estelle’s recent comments claiming the Welsh singer doesn’t represent soul music- in an exclusive chat with MTV News.
The Mercy singer told us: “I don’t wanna stand as a definition of soul music and I don’t think I ever will but there is influence of that in my music.”
She continued: “What you have to remember is a lot of kids don’t know about the great 60s and 70s soul music. So all I can do is channel those influences and interpret it in a contemporary way.”
Last month Estelle told us: “You can’t tell me that you can redefine soul music as Duffy and Adele because I didn’t grow up (with it) and I don’t identify with it.”
I'm LOVING "Hanging On Too Long" and "Delayed Devotion" so much right now... they have GOT to be the next two singles (after "Warwick Avenue") and then release "Distant Dreamer" to round things off!Duffy vs Estelle
(Friday April 11, 2008 05:57 PM)
Duffy has defended herself against accusations from Estelle that "she ain't soul".
The Welsh newcomer recently came underfire from her pop rival, who admitted she was angered at the lack of black artists in the British charts.
However she's now responded by claiming Estelle isn't looking hard enough, insisting: "If the talent and the desire is there, I don't really think it matters what colour you are.
"We don't live in the 1950s any more, we're in a multicultural country", continued Duffy in an interview with the BBC.
"So no, I think that's pretty far from the truth, look around and I think you'll see that it (black talent) really does exist", she said.
"This time I'm gonna get it right. I'm gonna paint my face like the Guggenheim!"
Yes, I think Delayed Devotion is my fave track off the album.
Debuted at #4 in France with impressive sales of 21,862.
This is the last word, this is the last time.
I have seen the "Mercy" video a lot recently.

Back up to No.1 this week.
The album is a proper chillout album. My boyfriend bought it, played it a few times, then put the security tag back on it somehow and took it back to Asda![]()
Though ssshhhh dnt tell the Asda people lolol
Weren't too sure about Duffy for a while but I'm sort of starting to like her a little bit, I do like Mercy at the moment! I might consider getting the album, I think the main reason why I'm not sure as to whether I like her or not is because of the Dusty Springfield comparisons, and I don't like Dusty that much :-? but I'll have to judge that for myself!![]()
