It's hard to understand why Grease is at # 2: doubled I Smurfenlad by Geir Borresen twice on wks at 1, woc and points...

    And Smokie at 4th?

And ABBA (ABBA) only at #8?

Sales in 1978 were much higher than the years before, for example in 1975 when 'ABBA' was released.

The Smokie album was at number one for 24 weeks:

The Smurf album was at number one around Christmas time, when sales were higher:

I have the following information from Billboard:

Billboard Magazine July 1, 1978: "In Norway, to receive awards for record sales, including one for the Greatest Hits album which sold 180,000 units here, the biggest seller of all time, topping even Abba, UK band Smokie ran into criticism because of its ban on local photographers."

Billboard Magazine, September 8, 1979: "In Norway, Abba's 'The Album' sold 200,840 units."

Billboard Magazine, July 17, 1982 : "In the 1978-1979 period, four LPs sold together a total million units in 12 months (nearly 13% of the total industry turnover): the four LPs were the first 'Smurf' LP, Abba 'The Album' and the OST 'Grease' & 'Saturday Night Fever'."
