Alisha's Attic were an English duo of the 1990s and early 2000s. The two members were Shelly McErlaine (née Poole) and Karen Poole, sisters born in barking East London, England. Their father is Brian Poole of Brian Poole and the Tremeloes, a 1960s musical group.

    They released the following singles:

    I Am, I Feel
    Alisha Rules the World
    Indestructible
    Air We Breathe
    The Incidentals
    Wish I Were You
    Barbarella
    Push It All Aside
    Pretender Got My Heart

    After Alisha's Attic:

Shelly went solo and released the album 'Hard Time For The Dreamer' in 2005 and also gave vocals for Michael Gray's 'Borderline' and is now in a band with Husband/Texas guitarist Ally McErlaine and the Alice Band's Charity Hair called Red Sky July.

Karen is a successful songwriter and has written songs for the likes of Kylie, Dannii, Victoria Beckham, Sugababes, Girls Aloud, Amy Study and Shapeshifters to mention a few.

Any fans? I think they had some great songs and were incredibly underrated at the time. Looking through their discography they never actually had a top 10 hit I always liked their lyrics as they were quite quirky and different to anything else around at the time. All three of their albums are really consistent and easy to listen to without skipping any tracks, I find.

Anyone else into them? Favourite tracks/albums?

Shelly's debut album is also really good and worth checking out.
Without Any Meaning / We're Just Skin & Bone / Like Beautiful Robots Dancing Alone.

    NOW we're talking!

Alisha's Attic are in my opinion one of the top 5 duos of all time (alongside the Carpenters, Roxette, Simon and Garfunkel and Flanders and Swann if you must know!)

I think the thing which has to stand out regarding Alisha's Attic is the absolutely fantastic lyrics! I got into these two the same time as I got into Space, and it was for the same reason - the wonderfully quirky lyrics.

    Standout tracks/albums?

Well I'd have to honestly say that all the singles are classics, as are all the album tracks on "Alisha Rules The World". The other albums are somewhat hit and miss though!

    Ultimate best songs...

    I Am, I Feel
    Alisha Rules The World
    The Incidentals
    White Room
    Push It All Aside
    Stone In My Shoe
    I Wish I Were You
    Indestructible
    Pretenders Got My Heart

I never bought an album, but I remember being really drawn to them when their videos played on 'The Box' back in the old days lol. My favourite track was 'Alisha Ruled The World' - like Matthew said, the lyrics were so quirky

I love them! Have to agree with Matthew that their lyrics are brilliant. They're both extremely talented girls and I can't believe they never scored a Top 10 hit :(

    My Top 5:

    1) I Am I Feel
    2) The Incidentals
    3) Alisha Rules The World
    4) Air We Breathe
    5) Push It All Aside

I only know two songs by them, "Alicia rules the world" and "He's A Rebel" from the "Bean" soundtrack... but I love both. Maybe I should give their albums a listen.

Loved these two songs: Alisha Rules The World
    Pretender Got My Heart

Really frustrating that we can't see videos for either in UK. :x

'The Incidentals' was a great song. In fact I liked most of there songs I would love to see them do a new album.

Alisha's Attic are one of a very small handful of bands who have a song that really hits me. Actually they've got a couple. Which makes them pretty interesting in my book.
This post is highly unlikely to be serious. Please treat it accordingly. Unless it's music-related, in which case I'm damn well right.

I LOVE He's A Rebel, such a great little cover.

And just because he doesn't do what everybody else does,
that's no reason why I can't give him all my love.

Had "The Incidentals" on my iPod during my trip and couldn't stop listening to it, such a gorgeous song! Their harmonies were amazing.

We need to create some more new chat about this incredible sister duo!

I have collected several of their singles to get new songs! B-sides which were mostly excellent! Plus a few good remixes as well.

There are so much hidden gems within Alisha's Attic. Those who collect all of their magic will reap it's rewards.

Their first album is brilliant. They also released some great B-sides, especially Drunken and Tearful.

Was it Karen that went on to be a huge songwriter? She's written so many songs!
Most listened to albums at the moment:
    Christina Aguilera - Liberation
    Lily Allen - No Shame
    Kali Uchis - Isolation
