Anybody know anything about this Australian based group, The Esaybeats, from the sixties? The only thing I knew about them, until recently, was their 1967 record "Friday On My Mind", which must be one of the best records ever made.

I know that one of them, George Young, later helped to form AC/DC with his more famous brothers, just wondering what they were like in terms of sales, appreciation around the World. I keep coming across their videos on Youtube, and it is clear that there was a lot more to them than just that one big international hit single. Apparently they had quite a few hits in Australia.

    Any views/info. welcome!

They wrote and originally released, certainly in the UK the song Good Times (United Artists UP 2243) in 1968, which was covered by Inxs & Jimmy Barnes in 1987 for the soundtrck to the film Lost Boys.
They also had another hit in the UK with Hello How Are You which made the top 20 in 1968. George Young and Harry Vanda of the band later formed Flash And The Pan and had a UK top ten hit in 1983 with Waiting For A Train.

The Cover of Good Times is great, and worth a listen if you havent heard it. I've Never heard the EasyBeats original.

Well, apart from one reply, not much response to this thread!! Easybeats maybe not that popular!

Now if I was to make a thread about the group that kind of evolved from them, AC/DC...................
