An impressive, but very well deserved position for this single in your chart of the year - and it's likely to be very similarly placed in mine when I'm eventually able to finalise it. I just realised that the most recent year for which I've posted a full chart in my own thread is 2011 ! - so, alongside the additional retro charts I'll be continuing to feature, I'm going to add the most up to date versions of one of those recent year-end top 100s (or as many as I can manage) each month - starting with 2012 in a couple of weeks' time.

"City Lights" is the highest-ranking of all your hits in the UKmixParade of the year - and I just have one more of mine still to come. Perhaps surprisingly, it isn't in the next batch - which is now less than two hours away, and in which seven more of this year's weekly chart-toppers will drop out of the race to become the forum favourite of 2017 . . . . .

I'm not sure whether there are any surprises here - but another perhaps surprising statistic, since there were fewer personal charts posted here regularly in 2017 than in 2016, is the number of hits scoring more than three hundred points. Last year - seven . . . . . this year - again seven !

So, in twelve hours from now, two of the hits that picked up more than three hundred points will unluckily just miss out on the forum's top five tracks of the year, which will be revealed at this time tomorrow. Predictions can, of course, be made at any time before then !

Last night, I did all the calculations of how many tracks each member has in the top 200, and discovered that the figure I previously mentioned for you a few days ago was wrong. Your total is actually thirty-four - which could give you a very high position in tomorrow's extra list ! - and seventeen of those are in the top fifty, including Camilia Cabello's most successful track of the year. She had two other appearances much further down :

Thanks for this tidbit! I think I remember having around 37 once upon a time, so 34 shows I'm still sporting a 'trendy' taste.

Quite a few I enjoy in this set. No big surprises, though I would have liked to have seen "The Cure" even higher.

Can't believe Swish Swish is the lowest of the four Katy songs left. I thought people here went ballistic for that one.

I was surprised by that too - I thought it would have been ahead of at least one of her other three number ones. It was, however, one of the quickest to disappear, spending just twelve weeks in the UKmixParade.

Two of my top five hits are still in the game!

Indeed - and I'm sure it will come as no surprise that one of them only just made it into the top fifteen, while the other will be a LOT higher . . . . .

Quite a few I enjoy in this set. No big surprises, though I would have liked to have seen "The Cure" even higher.

As well as her top 200 successes with this and "John Wayne", many of her other records picked up a few extra points - including the forum number one of the year 2009 !

Although my highest-ranking top five hit of the year didn't perform very well at all in the UK chart in 2017, I heard it in a television commercial a few days ago here, so it's possible that it will still have greater success, or at least stay around for a while longer . . . .

Several of these were a little unlucky that the year ended when it did, as they have been picking up points in the most recent weekly UKmixParades - some of them significantly ! - and will no doubt continue to score for a few more weeks yet.

Well I'm glad these 2 didn't make it in the top 5, terrible, terrible attempts at music!

When I first added up the totals for the year to date a few weeks ago, "Despactio" was set to finish in fourth place for 2017 ! However, it has more recently been overtaken by three other hits. I really can't see any merit in it either - but it has been the most successful song of the past twelve months in Western Europe.

Nothing else from Luis Fonsi has reached the top fives of anyone here, and only this one other release involving Daddy Yankee :
