The setg1 top five remains uneventful, as there are no new entries for the second week in a row. In fact, the entire chart has been static lately, the only exception being Hurts. Last week, they dropped from #2 to #4, but they surprisingly climb to the top this week, making "Ready to Go" their second number-one hit after "Beautiful Ones". As such, the Foo Fighters' number one streak has ended after four weeks – only one song (James Arthur's "Back from the Edge") has ever managed to spend five weeks at #1.

Yet again, there's no sign so far of any potentially high debuts - although there should be plenty of newcomers further down that are only appearing in one top five. However, Hurts could make a big rebound into the top ten, and acts currently challenging to find space there for the first time include Fifth Harmony, Hailee Steinfeld with full supporting cast, and Paloma Faith. And it seems to be Pink against Taylor Swift for forum favourite tonight - both are well ahead of everyone else, but close enough together that either could end up on top. It will all depend on what happens in further new and updated top fives in the remaining twelve hours and five minutes . . . . .Comment

Thirty-five of the personal charts combined into last week's UKmixParade have been updated in the past seven days - and it's welcome back to Belpop, whose new top five increases the total number of contributors to forty-seven. 705 points are shared among 175 different tracks, thirty of which are at number one in one individual chart but nowhere in any others. The number ones of Belpop, dziobaseczek and stevyy are their only representatives in the overall top eighty this time, while the entire top fives of bluecherry, ConstantinosV, JimJim, KokoCollino and phoenix98 are somewhere here.
All seven of this week's re-entries are in the bottom half of the top eighty, but eight out of seventeen brand new debuts are in the top forty - and the highest, from Zayn featuring Sia, arrives inside the top twenty. Meanwhile, there are big climbs for J Balvin and Willy William, Logic featuring Alessia Cara and Khalid, and Thirty Seconds To Mars - but which one of these three makes it into the top ten ? And Taylor Swift extends her lead at the top to nine points - appearing in thirteen of our charts is certainly not unlucky for "Look What You Made Me Do", still the forum favourite for a fifth week.

For once, new winds are blowing in the setg1 top five, as there are two debuts. This is the first time in three weeks that a new song appears in the top five, and the first week since June with more than one new entry – made all the more impressive by the fact that they conquer the two highest positions.
While songs discovered late in the week rarely enter high, there are naturally exceptions. Portugal. The Man, the new number one with "Feel It Still" is an example of this – while I had heard and somewhat liked the song before, I really started loving it on Monday, before which it didn't even look like entering the top five. The number two song is unexpected, or at least it would have been a few months ago.
It's from a My Little Pony: Equestria Girls short (!) and is best described as very silly but catchy pop rock. Due to these changes, Hurts drop to #3 after just one week at the top, with everyone else also falling down.
Two new entries obviously equals two drop-outs. Bastille's "Basket Case" leaves after four weeks. Having peaked at #2 and scored 14 points, it is the most successful song in the history of the setg1 top five to not have reached number one (though other non-number ones have charted longer, one of them for seven weeks, none have ever scored as many points). And having mentioned My Little Pony, the other song to drop out is Tridashie's "Pony Girl". Completely unexpectedly, the cute Aqua parody managed to spend 13 weeks in the top five, including two at #1 and four at #2!
