But it has some uncorrect chart positions! Like Umbrella has peaked #1 here, but on their page it only peaked #8!

Yes their charts is correct, but some of the peaks and chartruns for old songs is really not correct!

The reason for the confusion is that "Tracklist" only became the official Danish singles chart from the beginning of November 2007.

On www.danishcharts.com, the first week of Tracklist is this one:

Note all the new entries, that had not been in the physical sales chart - which had been the official Danish singles chart previously, and is covered on www.danishcharts.com up to the last week of October 2007:

The physical singles chart continued to be compiled and published by www.hitlisterne.dk for a week or two longer - and it used to feature a full archive going back about as far as the one on www.danishcharts.com . However, that was removed a few months ago, and now they just show the Tracklist - including those compiled in the period (a year or two?) before it became the official chart.

I haven't spotted any errors on www.danishcharts.com at all - but that's why it doesn't show the same as www.hitlisterne.dk until the most recent two years.

Not in Tracklist, no - but it was in the official singles sales chart for well over twice that many weeks. It was the number one in that last week before Tracklist became the official chart, on the first of my above links - and its full run (much of it before Tracklist was ever compiled!) can be seen here:

Oh, yes. The "unreachable" danish charts... Newspaper BT published them in 80s, but they probably have no online archive to track all the singles down. A lady from the danish IFPI couldn t help and I am still waiting for another answer... So, for now let s see what we have actually... Info is incomplete as some chart positions may not be definite, but it is at least something. The number one hits are 100% sure.

Other ones are probably not just top 15, but also top 10 hits. I am especially surprised with the charting of "Call Me", which was a big hit in other 3 scandinavian countries (Top5 placing in all three).,, What is also interesting, Danish charts seems to be generally a mix of what is popular in scandinavian and german speaking countries. Exception is probably sir Cliff, whose singles there were sold like hot cakes in 80s. Even the flopped "Dynamite song" seems to have reached no.1 there...

Finally got some answers from people, to whom I wrote, but as expected, nobody could help me while saying "the charts were not official"... Official or not, Billboard and Europarade used them... I thought that there must be a person, who made the charts for BT and maybe archived them... Probably it was a ghost... And now it looks to me that nobody in the whole Denmark is interested in a research and recollecting of the old data from 1977 to 1994... A pity... :( The "denmark info" I have is just too incomplete to use it... It is only about guessing, if the single was also a top 10 hit and not just top 15... And of couse only few confirmed highest peaks... :( And the truth is, the info from that country could change the whole picture in the lower positions of my list...

A very little updated list... Without those two rare French and German charts used in Europarade it is quite difficult to find a correct position for danish singles... The austrian and uk charts are also "weird" ones for the first years of 80s... For Great Britain it is not the official one and neither the Melody Maker chart even if for example something fits (no.2 of The Police's - Walking on the Moon) for first week of 1980... The year 1980 is just one mess...
