Anita Baker - Sweet Love (1986)

Since it's Valentines Day, I just thought of this wonderful love song, which is a classic! Beyonce also sung this in her I Am... Yours concert for those who aren't familiar with it.

A very nice song... one of the best 80's slow jams.

I always loved most of Anita's tunes. I think I shared this with AyumiH and she loves her too.

Nice to know other Baker fans here.

          I love this song too.

And I preferred M-Beat's remake to that of Fierce. :x

I've not heard Bey's version but I doubt she outclassed Ms. Baker!

The thing I love about this song is it's thought of as a 'slow jam' or ballad but it's really not. Especially near the end, it has tempo and a bit of oomph not like your normal diva-esque ballad.

I invested in her Very Best of a couple of years ago and I'm so glad I did, I think she's just a terrific songwriter. Songs like this, Fairytales, Soul Inspiration show that especially.

This was the first single from one of my favorite albums of all time.
