I decided to finally post this kind of chart to clarify what kind of music I'm more into. The acts represented here regardless of their chart and sales achivements managed to pave their ways through to my heart.
I'm starting with 40. Babylon Zoo
A one-Mann() band which played alternative rock/space rock music during the early - mid 90s and achieved a UK #1 single with the unforgettable "Spaceman". In fact, Babylon Zoo had two albums and both of them are very underrated.

Spaceman - the video for a #1 chart hit
    Animal Army - reached #17, very Suede-ish

    This should prove interesting.
I always considered BZ an one hit wonder (I do remember his second single, though).
    Let's have a second referendum

I have both albums because I've seen a programme considering one-hit wonders on some music channel.
"The Boy With X-Ray Eyes" is a great record.

    Next up is:

    39. Super Furry Animals
Psychedelic pop band which has done some strange and weird albums. Their biggest hit "Northern Lites" went to #11 in the UK charts. The band later said that "Northern Lites" could have been a bigger hit than it was but "it didn't have a video. The guy who was supposed to do it got offered a Red Stripe commercial in Jamaica. We met him later and were like, 'We understand, we'd have done the same.'"

Juxtapozed With U - my favourite song off theirs.
Run-Away - my favourite video off theirs, directed by Richard Ayoade.

Do you know their 2009 comeback, Inaugural Trams? It is probably my fav by them now alongside with The Man Don't Give a **** and Nortehrn Lites

Yes, I know. My favourite one of their new album "Dark Days/Light Years" is "The Very Best of Neil Diamond".
Their videos are pretty much hit-or-miss but still.

    Wow, Babylon Zoo. Great stuff.

I owned the album and really liked em. I even enjoyed the flop of a comeback single "All The Money's Gone" (it reached #46!).

Super Furries, also a very cool act.

Jas Mann of Babylon Zoo promised a comeback but it is unknown will it actually ever happen because there is no more than a hundred people bothered.
Some tedious MOR dullness is still to come in this chart.

    38.Dúné
Actually, this isn't the only danish band in the list.
I wasn't very keen on them when I first heard them on MTV Germany but soon I started to get into them and finally bought their second album which turned to be top class. A blend of indie rock and electonic music - wasn't it the all conquering formula back in 2006-2008? Maybe I like them only because of the quite androgynously looking frontman?

80 Years - their closest to pop.
Dry Lips - my favourite song.
Let Go Of Your Love - their biggest hit in Denmark.

Next up is one of synthpop acts that managed not to bother charts. (Which is an achievement really )
    37. Ladytron
"Destroy Everything You Touch" is really their best single but still they had some pretty decent tracks like "Seventeen"(accompanied by kind of creepy video) and very stylish "Runaway"

Seventeen - great song and video.
Destroy Everything You Touch - actually the song was quite popular in continental Europe, but in the native UK the single managed to narrowly miss the Top 40.

This band is really legendary and I simply can't understand why none of their singles ever reached #1 in the UK.
An example of style and musical competence:
    36. Depeche Mode
Why they are not so high?
I don't know really, maybe it's in their coldness.

Useless - my favourite single of Depeche Mode
    Suffer Well - great video.
Precious - the awesome comeback single
Wrong - their last album was also top-class.
The thing is i'm not into their typical classics like " Personal Jesus", "Enjoy The Silence" and " Walking In My Shoes".

Most people consider this band to be an average britpop band but still:
    35.Sleeper
This band had a wonderful album "The It Girl" and on the whole it was quite an underrated band. Also, it associates with the term "Sleeper-bloke" referring to non-frontman members of girl-fronted rock band.

What Do I Do Know - nice single
Inbetweener(Live) - their breakthrough single, played live on Britpop Now

This one is a cult band.
One of those that brought dream pop genre to the world of music.
    34.Cocteau Twins
I'm really into them only recently but I'm already enjoying "Heaven or Las Vegas".

Heaven Or Las Vegas - great song, very very atmospheric
Bluebeard - clearly my favourite single by Cocteau Twins.

    Another britpop call-up.
    33. Mansun
I must say this band was brilliant at choosing singles. Strangely naming their first two album's singles as, for example, Seven EP or Eight EP and so on.
"Attack Of Grey Lantern" - their only no.1 album, is a great mixture of britpop and progressive rock.

I Can Only Disappoint U - their last Top 10 single
Being A Girl - nice music video
Negative - their best song, in my opinion accompanied by a creepy video

The second danish band in the chart and it is:
    32. The Raveonettes
Well, they are maybe the first who decided to reinvent noisy sound of The Jesus And Mary Chain and make it pop.
It's no surprise Sharin Foo(female member) looks like Nico (from Velvet Underground & Nico) and Sune Rose Wagner(male member) looks like Jim Reid from The Jesus And Mary Chain.
NME buzz provided this band two top 40 singles in the UK.

Love In A Trashcan - more surf than dream pop
Dead Sound - once noisy, always noisy

The next in the list is a very talented solo artist.
    31. Jay Jay Johanson
He started as a trip-hop artist but in 2002 he preceeded modern 80s revival hysteria by 5 years with his album "Antenna" earning my respect.

On The Radio - astonishingly great single
So Tell The Girls I'm Back In Town - also a great tune
Automatic Lover - synthpop rendition of Dee D. Jackson's 1979 song

Depeche Mode are the best in the list so far.
I like most others, too. Could never really get into Cocteau Twins and I nh of #31 and #50.

At least you may try them out. Jay Jay Johanson is very underrated in Europe though popular in it's eastern part.

Cult for someone, has-beens for others.
One of the most popular UK rock band in continental Europe at the moment.
    30. Placebo
If I had been completing my list 3 years ago, Placebo would have been second or third.
But the disaster that is called "Battle For The Sun" damaged the position a lot.
I consider the best Placebo album to be the first one.
    Such an astonishing record.

Pure Morning - their best-known single worldwide
You Don't Care About Us - great single
Come Home - their 1st single
