Didn't we already have a thread about Toni? If not, what a crime!
She was quite big at her peak, oushining the likes of Mariah, Whitney and Céline...
actually she "stole" the 1994 Best R&B female vocal performance from Whitney Houston ...and did the same in 1997 with the Best pop female vocal performance with Céline.

I just realized that she really "snatched wigs" of so many divas back in the 1990s! She was nominated for four consecutive years for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, and she has won four out of the five total nominations she has had in her career. She even won for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance.

"Toni Braxton" and "Secrets" were really huge in the US, both going 8x platinum.

Can we get a worldwide breakdown of her album sales?

It looks like she's never been a huge first week seller. The chart performances of the albums were based on longevity I love that( Of course with Secrets,TB, and The Heat)

Oh my god! More Than a Woman had no hope of being a hit! 98,000 first-week sales in 2002, and that was just two years after The Heat, which was a hit era?! :-? :-?

Yep I remember it debuted at #13 and didn't have any legs.Hit the freeway was quite a flop it peaked at #86 while her previous album all had a sucessful first single. Libra did, quite good considering Please didn't even chart.

I'm still wondering to this day how Libra managed to outsell More Than a Woman in its first week considering she wasn't even that visible and there were no hits from this album! Perhaps, the people who heard it really liked the album and bought it.

Guys, in Toni's case...let's not forget that club sales are important. Unfortunately we don't know Columbia house numbers but we do have BMG figures (at least for her 2 best sellers):

TONI BRAXTON - TONI BRAXTON (LAFACE) (972,000 units)
TONI BRAXTON - SECRETS (LAFACE) (927,000 units)

    So that would make:

    "Toni Braxton" 5,135,000 + 972,000 = 6,107,000
    "Secrets" 5,364,000 + 927,000 = 6,291,000

I assume both sold more than 7 million each including Columbia but we don't know for sure. All we have as a parameter is the RIAA certificiation.

Yes Pulse quite flopped and I have a feeling that her new album may sell even less :-? but maybe the reality will help in the long run and sell more.

Oh, I'm pretty confident that her new album will surpass 145,000 copies in the United States!! She better make sure she releases it sometime this year or next year.

If she releases an album 2-4 years for now, or five years (just like the break between Libra and Pulse) then it's a whole different story. :-?

Yeah, that video looked like she was trying to mesh in with the crowd of the much younger female artists. (Rihanna, Beyoncé, etc.)

How was this possible with a debut of 152k ?
It must've sold over 100k for months...

Do you know Taiwan? If not, check the map, it's in Southeastern Asia and beside mainland China, BUT YOU MUST KNOW, it doesn't belong to China!
