I wouldn't call Beyoncé "the Queen" either, but I know a few heathens calling her "Queen B", so your title is kinda throwing shade towards her Love that (although I have to say that her latest album is quite great)

I needed a few minutes to find your current #1. Thank you Perez Hilton! - I'm really glad that I didn't give up after 2 minutes because this Tisdale tune is a nice one, although it's far away from "Crank It Up"'s epicness. But the beat is great, the chorus is infectious and she sounds really great on that one!

When it comes to your #2, I was like WTF Oo I didn't know that Anette Olzon is goin' solo now! The verses of "Falling" are really haunting, but I am not a huge fan of the chorus. I'm missin' Tuomas' spirit here.

Hopefully, "Perfume" can do a great comeback. I wanna see it in your Top5 again, whereas "Work Bitch" longevity amazes me!
Also, it will be interesting to see "Venus" spending 10 weeks in the Top10. I'll keep my fingers crossed that this will happen. Only 2 weeks to go!

Ernman is not my cup of tea at all. "La Voix"'s chorus is still one of the very few darkest moments of Sweden in Eurovision.

I cannot wait to get to know "Counting Stars" position in your YEC. It seems that this song is as successful as in my chart without having reached the top

"Paradise" is still there? - That's awesome! So next week we're goin' to see "Dangerous", I guess ;)

+ Great to see BJ is your #1 again. So it's not flopping everywhere <3

    Spotify says Hi ;)
Well, at least I found it immediately there. Sorry, I know that I sometimes sound like working for them, but I really enjoy their service.

I don't use Spotify. I'm not a fan of listening to songs without having them on my iTunes... I spent a fortune on buying all songs on iTunes or physical CDs... or can u use Spotify for free as well?

Yes, during the first six months. And they often have promos like "one month premium" for free (with premium you can listen on your mobile as well, however they currently plan to make it also for free on phones).

I guess I will subscribe for their service after my six months, because I actually only buy CDs by Madonna, Britney and Gaga, so it's fine for me to pay 5 EUR a month to have available 99% of the music in the world.

    Sorry for the advertising

I totally agree with you. But it's the case with so many artists... calling a female singer queen is such a normal thing nowadays

Oh sorry... i just saw that the link in my post isn't working. Looks like they deleted it from youtube - weird! :-?
Anyway, i'm glad you found it in the end and you like it. But yeah, it's not as amazing as "Crank It Up"

Haha you didn't know that? Anette was already recording stuff for her solo album when she was in the band I also made a topic HERE. She already announced the album title and release date last month ;)
Actually i think the chorus sounds amazing. It's so huntin and doesn't want to leave my ear right now. Really love her voice on there and i like that it doesn't sound like a NW track. But somehow it reminds me on Tarja's first solo song ("I Walk Alone")...

Right now it looks like both - "Work Bitch" and "Perfume" - will fall next week due to christmas songs taking over But we'll see!
Same for "Venus" - so i hope the next week's charts won't disappoint you

OMG you think so? I LOOOOVED her back then and still do it. The album "La voix du nord" is pure perfection and flawless! There are a few songs i like a lot more than "La voix" though like "One Step From Paradise", "What Becomes Of Love", "Perduse" and "Tragedy"...

It will be high ;) Yeah, somehow kinda sad it never topped my charts, cause it deserved to.

Yes! And it's growing on me again, maybe because of "Dangerous". And yes again, "Dangerous" will debut next week ;)

Haha no i loved it. But expect a drop next week.

Yay, glad to know that, so i'm not the only one <3

I'm still sad that her album flopped that way all over the world. It's really good... but i already thought the same about "Goodbye Lullaby"... :-?

thanks so much for all comments

    week 52/2013 – 26 december 2013 Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year

    • Singles Top40

Merry Christmas everyone! Pretty unsurprisingly, the christmas songs are dominating this weeks charts. But, it’s not a christmas song whose on the top of the Singles Top40. After the number one song “Paradise (What About Us?)” together with Tarja, Within Temptation is ready to release their second single of the upcoming sixth album. The single is called “Dangerous” and features Howard Jones. The song is another sure debut on top for the dutch band and their third chart topper so far.

Back to the christmas songs. Ariana Grande seems to be the winner of this years christmas battle. The nickelodeon star released a Christmas EP with four songs and all four songs were released as singles, and all of them are in the Top10 this week. The highest one remains “Love Is Everything” as it’s up 4-2 and re-peaks. “Snow In California” is up 16-3 and reachs a new peak. It also becomes her fourth Top3 hit after the mentioned “Love Is Everything”, the #1-single “The Way” and “Baby I” which peaked at #2.

Miley Cyrus’ “Wrecking Ball” slips 3-4 in its 18th week on the charts. It never left the Top10 so far. The two top debuts of last week are loosing some places this week as Anette Olzon’s “Falling” falls 2-5 while Ashley Tisdale’s “You’re Always Here” is down 1-6. The two other tracks by Ariana are “Santa Baby” featuring Liz Gillies at #7 (up from #9) and “Last Christmas” at #8 (up from #15). Two other christmas songs are climbing into the Top10 this week. Kelly Clarkson scores her 8th Top10 as “Underneath The Tree” rises 13-9 while Malena Ernman’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone” is up by 12-10.

With all the christmas tracks in the Top10, five songs fall out of them this week. Imagine Dragon’s “Demons” is down 6-11, “Venus” by Lady GaGa falls 8-12, Avicii is down 10-13 with “Hey Brother” while Britney is leaving the Top10 with her two songs “Work Bitch” (5-14) and “Perfume” (7-16).

The new entry on top isn’t the only thing for Within Temptation to be happy about this week. There’s also another little christmas gift as their single “Paradise” also rises 39-27 this week. It’s charting for 13 weeks.

There’s a second new entry apart from Within Temptation this week. After the huge success that was last years UK X-Factor winner James Arthur with his “Impossible” (#1 for two weeks), this year’s winner is Sam Bailey with “Skyscraper”, a cover of the #2-peaking hit by Demi Lovato. Sam’s version enters the charts at #29, much lower than James’ “Impossible” which debuted at #10 nearly a year ago.

Calvin Harris and Ellie Goulding’s “I Need Your Love” celebrates its 40th week on the charts (34-35 this week) while Lady GaGa’s “Applause” celebrates its 20th week on the charts (32-36).

The biggest climber is the already mentioned “Snow In California” by Ariana Grande while the biggest loser is Pitbull and Ke$ha’s “Timber” (26-37).

    • Album Top20

The Top3 this week is full of christmas (or winter) albums. With four songs in the Top10 of the Singles Top40 it’s not a surprise to see Ariana Grande’s “Christmas Kisses” rising 3-1 this week. It debuted last week and outpeakes her debut album “Yours Truly” which debuted and peaked at #3 earlier this year.

Swedish singer Malena Ernman seems to be the unlucky one as her “I decembertid” remains at number two for the third consecutive week. But the album isn’t a pure christmas album and more like a winter album, so it shouldn’t freefall next week. Rounding up the Top3 is the christmas album “Wrapped In Red” by Kelly Clarkson. It’s rising 7-3 this week and gets a new peak through this. It previously peaked at #4 – its debut position eight weeks ago.

There’s only one new entry this week and it comes in at number four. Out of nothing, Beyoncé released her self-titled album through iTunes nearly two weeks ago. It’s breaking some records and sold about one million copies in only ten days in the US. It’s her first entry on the Album Top20, so a #4-debut is definitely pretty good to begin with.

Miley Cyrus’ “Bangerz” slips 4-5 while Lady GaGa’s “ARTPOP” also loses only one place and is down 5-6. Quite shocking seems to be the decrease for Britney Spears. After two weeks on top and one at #2 before, the album falls 1-7 in its fourth week. Nightwish’s “Showtime, Storytime” is down 6-8 while their former leadvocalist Tarja is back in the Top10 with “Colours In The Dark” (11-9). Rounding up the Top10 is Ashley Tisdale’s “Headstrong” (8-10).

Ashley’s second entry “Guilty Pleasure” already leaves the Top10 this week as it’s down 9-12. Avicii’s debut album called “True” re-enters the charts at #19.

Finally, the last act to mention is Emmelie De Forest. Her debut album “Only Teardrops” falls out of the Top20 for the first time after having spent amazing 28 weeks in it.

    • Airplay Top10

The christmas songs are also making a big impact on this weeks airplay charts. But, like on the Singles Top40, the number one isn’t a christmas song.

“Dangerous” by Within Temptation and Howard Jones is also making a debut on top of the Airplay Top10 with exactly 100 plays. It’s also the second number one hit on the airplay charts for the dutch band as “Paradise” also debuted there with 104 plays earlier this year.

Last week’s debut at #2 remains there: Swedish singer Anette Olzon with “Falling”. But, while the track only got less than 40 plays last week, the song was played 98 times this week. Rounding up the Top3 is the first christmas song. Ariana Grande debuts with “Love Is Everything”.

The three other songs from her Christmas EP are also new entries this week; “Snow In California” enters at #4, “Santa Baby” at #5 and “Last Christmas” is new at #6.

Surprisingly, Lady GaGa’s “Venus” remains in the charts and even climbs a spot as it’s up 8-7. Meanwhile, Kelly Clarkson gets her second entry on the airplay charts as “Underneath The Tree” debuts at #8. Kelly charted earlier this year with “People Like Us” for one week at #9.

The two last tracks on the Airplay Top10 are by Malena Ernman. While the single “You’ll Never Walk Alone” slips 7-9, the album opener “Counting Miracles” falls 4-10.

Plays of the Top10 went up by 112 to 397 (+39.3%) compared to last week.

Amazing stability for "Halcyon Days" . Great to see "Thunder" getting a new Peak, too.
And the day came when the risk it took to remain tightly closed in a bud was more painfully than the risk it took to bloom

Since I'm not anymore in Xmas mode (and tbh, wasn't even during Xmas because... well... doesn't mean so much to me at the moment ) - I guess I'll wait for next week for some fresh new spirits in your fabolous chart

Gonna check out your YEC as soon as I have some more time

Thanks, great to see you like so many songs
Actually i didn't thought "Wrecking Ball"'s video is that bad, but i wished there would be a better video though... Anyway, the song is really beautiful.
Not sure about Ashley, i'm already starting to get bored of her new song :-? I hope it will grow on me again

thanks so much for all comments

    week 01/2014 – 2 january 2013 And the first number one of 2014 is…

    • Singles Top40

…Miley Cyrus with her new single “Adore You”! After the impressive chartrun of the previous single “Wrecking Ball”, which topped the Singles Top40 for eight non-consecutive weeks last year and is still charting inside the Top10 in its 19th week on the charts, the debut on top for “Adore You” may be not that surprising. But in fact, this week was pretty hard and in all other weeks, all of the songs from the Top3 would have been easily on top of the charts.

So we take a look at the other two songs from the Top3 too. Both are new entries as well, means the whole Top3 is new – what a way to start the new year! New at #2 is UK singer Ed Sheeran with the song “I See Fire”. “I See Fire” is from the official soundtrack to “The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug” and while Ed released lots of singles from his debut album “+” over the last 2-3 years, “I See Fire” marks Ed’s first charts appearance as a solo act as none of these singles made it to the charts. But it's his second entry overall, has the collaboration with Taylor Swift called "Everything Has Changed" reached the charts last year. Rounding up the Top3 is the new single by DJ tyDi and estonian recording artist Kerli called “Stardust”. It’s already their third collaboration after “Glow In The Dark” (#1) and “Something About You” (no entry). While it’s tyDi’s second charts appearance, it’s already Kerli’s sixth charting song. All previous five singles topped the charts for at least one week and only her debut single “Walking On Air” didn’t debut on top (#4 over five years ago).

Last weeks number one “Dangerous” by Within Temptation and Howard Jones falls 1-4, becoming their shortest number one single so far. Anette Olzon’s “Falling” on the other hand remains stable at #5. Miley’s second single “Wrecking Ball” is still doing good, falling 4-6 this week. It’s just the second week outside the Top5. At #7 there’s already the fourth new entry; James Arthur debuts with his third single “Recovery”, immediately outpeaking his previous single “You’re Nobody Til Somebody Loves You” which peaked at #9. Imagine Dragon’s “Demons” is up 11-8, Ariana Grande falls 2-9 with “Love Is Everything” while Ashley Tisdale’s “You’re Always Here” rounds up the Top10 as it’s down 6-10.

The new year truly brings a lot of new things. Finally, after some years, Beyoncé is getting two new entries on the Singles Top40 with “XO” at #13 and “Drunk In Love” at #32. Finally, a seventh (!) new entry arrives at #36 – Dolly Parton with “Jolene”. The song is already over 40 years old, so it’s the oldest song ever to debut on my charts.

Apart from the new entries, there are also lots of other things to mention. With “Thunder” by Jessie J rising 15-12 this week, the song outpeaks “It’s My Party” (#13) and becomes the highest peaking single of Jessie J’s second album so far.

With christmas being over now, all christmas songs are loosing lots of places. “Snow In California” by Ariana Grande falls 3-15, her collaboration with Liz Gillies called “Santa Baby” is down 7-24 while her cover of “Last Christmas” is down 8-33. Kelly Clarkson’s “Underneath The Three” falls 9-26 and Malena Ernman’s “You’ll Never Walk Alone” falls 10-34.

The biggest climber this week is Ciara’s “Overdose” (19-14) while the already mentioned “Last Christmas” by Ariana Grande is the biggest loser.

    • Album Top20

Christmas is over, so the christmas and winter albums are loosing some places. And with the new year starting, it’s kinda nice to have also a completely new album on top of the charts. The Soundtrack for the second Hobbit movie “The Desolation Of Smaug” becomes the first soundtrack ever to top the album charts, debuting there this week. The only soundtracks that made it to the charts so far were “Almost Alice” (#2 in 2010) and “Frankenweenie Unleashed” (#3 in 2012).

Due to the new single, Miley Cyrus’ “Bangerz” rises 5-2, having had a big chance of returning back to the top this week. Rounding up the Top3 is Beyoncé’s self-titled album, which rises 4-3 and so it gets a new peak in its second week on the charts.

In its 42nd week on the charts, Kerli’s “Utopia” rises 11-4 and comes back to the Top5 again. It only spent five weeks outside the Top10 so far, so it spent impressive 37 in the Top10! Malena Ernman’s “I decembertid” falls 2-5, Lady GaGa’s “ARTPOP” remains stable at #6 while last weeks number one “Christmas Kisses” by Ariana Grande falls 1-7. “Britney Jean” falls 7-8, Nightwish’s “Showtime, Storytime” slips 8-9 while Tarja’s “Colours In The Dark” rounds up the Top10 as it’s down 9-10.

Just missing the Top10 is the second new entry this week. Released over two years ago, Ed Sheeran’s debut album “+” finally debuts at #11. The third christmas/winter album on the charts, Kelly Clarkson’s “Wrapped In Red”, tumbles 3-12. It’s charting for ten weeks now.

Kerli’s debut album “Love Is Dead” is back at #15. So it’s now also charting for 42 weeks, the same amount like her current release “Utopia”.

    • Airplay Top10

The new year also brings lots of changes on the Airplay Top10. Nine out of ten songs are falling out of the charts this weeks – so only one remains there! The one that remains there is last weeks number one “Dangerous” by Within Temptation and Howard Jones. The song falls 1-5 this week.

New on top is Ed Sheeran’s stunning ballad “I See Fire” with 101 plays. That’s exactly one more play than last weeks number one. It’s his first appearance on the airplay charts so that debut is pretty impressive. tyDi and Kerli are behind him with their collaboration “Stardust”, which got 84 plays. Rounding up the Top3 is the #1 from the Singles Top40: Miley Cyrus and “Adore You”. The song previously charted for one week and comes back with 70 plays.

Exactly a year ago when the Airplay Top10 started, Kerli was the artist that ruled for several weeks with lots of her songs from “Utopia”, but also some older songs. She owned nine out of ten songs back then, only the number one wasn’t her (it was Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble.”). This week, the estonian pop princess is making a huge comeback with lots of her songs and she owns six songs, including two collaborations with tyDi.

“Can’t Control The Kids” comes back at #4, the first collabo with tyDi called “Glow In The Dark” is new at #6 while the singles “Zero Gravity”, “Walking On Air” and “Army Of Love” all re-enter the charts at #8 to #10.

The last song on the charts is “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus which re-enters at #7.

Plays of the Top10 remains exactly the same like last week, so 397 (+0%). This never happened before!

Never been a big fan of Adore You, but nice to see it as your #1 as I know that you really like Miley

I tried some Kerli songs out by the way. Sounds good, added some to my playlist
But she always looks like a doll on her covers

I'm having troubles with XO and Drunk In Love tho :-? I really really liked RTW(Girls).

Glad you like the #1 and "Jolene". Also, i agree, it's a fantastic song. I can't believe how much i love it right now

Yes, i really like her and it's already her 11th consecutive #1 song on my weekly charts
But i think it won't be as big as WB was.

Oh, which ones did you add to your playlist? She's my favorite artist, really love her!
Haha yeah true, but that's how she is

Have you tried the whole album? Actually i think these two are probably also the two best songs of the album for me. Really like them, especially "XO". Maybe they will grow on you?

Great and flawless number-one, although I have to admit that its music video bores me too death. Love the single cover though. I am a bit disappointed that they didn't release "SMS" as Bangzer's third single. Now my hopes of Miley helping BJ are kinda destroyed, but I understand the deicion since "Adore You" has already appeard on the US chart and SMS is not really single material.

I absolutely adore your #2 as well. After watching the Hobbit 2 I needed to find out whose song was played at the end of the movie and I'm still in love with this one.. it has risen on my chart, though... need to update them but I still haven't really arrived from Budapest yet Still needs to take care of the dirty laundry, my Cds by Hungarian singers and all the pictures I took

That is way I were not here when you put "Dangerous" - a flawless and energetic song by WT - as your number-one! - Damn, it's so freakin' good! I think that this one will be bigger on my chart than Tarja's collabo. I love them collaboarting with different artists. Cannot wait for that Hip-Hop-Metal-Thing on their album

Not impressed by "XO" though.. I think that the song with Jay-Z is slightly better + Britney shouldn't fall at all, but nice to see Counting Stars being able!

Interesting to see Ed Sheeran's I See Fire debuting that high on your chart . After it did quite well on the charts all around the world, I gave it a spin and I wasn't pleased with it. In fact, I consider it very boring and plain, especially compared to Lego House and A-Team. Or do you think that I simply need to give it a second chance to fully grow on me?
Je n'ai qu'une philosophie: Être acceptée comme je suis. Malgré tout ce qu'on me dit, je reste le poing levé.

    Say no to streaming!

First of all, glad to have you back here

Glad you like Miley's "Adore You". So i guess it will debut on your charts as well? Actually i think i like the video more than the video for WCS. It's pretty beautiful and i don't get the hate for it. but oh well, it's Miley. I love the single cover too!
Well to be honest i think "SMS" would do nothing on the charts... it's just not that good. I'd prefer "FU", "Drive" or "4x4" as the 4th single.

Wow, great you like Ed's "I See Fire"! I love that song since the first listen. Did you like the Hobbit 2? I loved it!

I know, don't worry Actually i didn't like "Dangerous" that much when it came out but it grew on me so much after a few plays. While i loved to see those two symphonic metal queens collaborating on a track i still think the result could have been better, so i get why you like "Dangerous" more.

Maybe it will grow on you? "Drunk In Love" is actually my 2nd fave of the album. Well, i'm starting to get over those two singles of Brit, hopefully she'll release the third one soon.

I think it's very stunning and really beautiful. I like this kind of music and after watching the movie i'm in love with it. I haven't heard it in full before the movie, so i actually loved it after the first full listen and also because i love the movie, i guess. I even bought his album "+" because i like "I See Fire" that much. Maybe it will grow on you with time. Have you seen the movie?
