the most succesful era so far on my Charts by the way.

Great to see the certs for "Someone Like You" and especially "Set Fire To The Rain"

Crazy that "21" was your #1 album of the year with a #2 peak! But I love such things

That debut for Guy Sebastian's next single is great! It's such a shame that the song hasn't been released in Germany. I guess they wait until he does some promo here.. otherwise it doesn't make any sense to hold it back. I've already checked iTunes to finally buy it twice!

"Same Old Love" is about to finally crack the US Top10 and now it's the first week outside of yours :(

Nice to see "Writing's On The Wall" is back and what an amazing re-entry! Great to see (and to read) that the movie made you fall in love with it again!

And another great update for "Élan". Something's getting excitied about attending Nightwish's concert

Lovely to see two Lena singles next to each other!

Coldplay's chart-run is a bit disappointing, though. Hopefully, the release of their upcoming album will bring back some love!

7x Gold for "21" is insane. Will "25" top it?
Glad you like Adele's slayage this week
I'm surprised Guy's song is not available in Germany, because it is in Switzerland. I hope he plans some promo over there, as he deserves some success outside of Australia as well. His last album was really good, so i'm very excited for his upcoming one!

Don't worry about SOL... the AMA performance gave it a little push this week...
While i liked "Writing's On The Wall" a lot in the week it came out, i got over it way too fast. But the movie made me like the song again... it fits sooo well to the movie!

Yes, i was so excited. Hopefully you will love their position(s) this week
Also good you like Lean's entries. She should be so much more successful!

Coldplay will climb back for sure with the new album
Haha... i'm not sure if "25" can top that, as 7xG is a huge success. But there wasn't a Top20 back then, so "25" could basically show more longevity... we'll see

I hope you will like the album tracks as well

btw you need to start your own personal charts here!

Well, she's just making good music. I wouldn't call myself a stan or even a fan of hers, but i think she's great

And Adele everywhere, reminds me that I didn't listen to 25 yet
Yeah he just released it like 2-3 weeks ago. I hope you will like it, as it's really good in my opinion
Anna Rossinelli just released their third album last friday and it's great!
Oh if you liked "21", you need to check out the new album too. It's definitely a very good one and deserves all the attention it gets

Great to see "Your Type" debut in the top 10! I'd forgotten this had become a single (just watched the video but it sucked). Definitely my favourite song on the album.

Inna continuing to mix up really good songs with unlistenable crap (sorry). Also messy with a "new" album so soon.

I checked out Anna Rossinelli's "Bang Bang Bang" and it sounded pretty good. I also listened a little to a few songs on the album and they also sounded interesting so I'm going to give the album a proper listen tomorrow. I already listened earlier this week to Jaël's album and I liked it! It didn't have a real standout track on the first listen but was pleasant overall and I gave it a second and a third listen in full (which I rarely do with albums, usually because I find one or more songs that "take over"). I think "This Love Is a Jungle" is my favourite track now. How do you pronounce her name?

Interesting to see "Élan" going up again! Good thing your chart has as many as 40 positions or it wouldn't have that nice consecutive chart run .

Nice to see that Hailee Steinfeld's EP charted, even if it's now in last position. With only four tracks it won't be allowed to chart on my albums chart but would most likely have made the top 10 otherwise.
Well, you already said Adele didn't impress you with "21" as well so i didn't expect you to like "25" a lot as it's quite similar to the previous album. But glad to her you like "Send My Love" which is definitely one of the better tracks of the album

I havent' seen the video for "Your Type" yet, but this is another case where we don't have the same song of the album as this is actually one of my least faves So don't expect a huge hit for her on my charts...
Inna's career overall seems very messy, which is very sad as i love her voice and she's very talented.

Wow, glad to hear you like "Bang Bang Bang". I only listened to the album once so far as i'm busy listening to another artist this week, but it sounded really good. Easily better than their previous album (= 'their' because it's actually a band). Also really happy to hear that about Jaël. "Shuffle The Cards" is a great pop album... i'd name "I Don't Like Good-Byes" as my favorite song. I also already replied to your question about her name in your topic

"Élan"'s chartrun will be even better this week...
And yeah i remember you said you like Hailee's EP. It didn't do much for me unfortunately :(

Yeah i remember you already said that once on your charts. Glad she smashed so hard on your charts as well! I'm already really excited to see what she picks as the follow-up singles to "Hello". While i think "21" is an amazing album, i also think there are more songs on "25" that could work as singles.

Good to hear it's growing on you. I really like it!

It's nice, but it will drop a lot this week so don't expect a hit for him I also think there were better choices to be honest...

Glad you like these. "Someone Like You" is one of the biggest songs on my charts so far!

Haha true. Something similar happened with the singles as well, as it already happened three times the #1s on my YEC were songs with a #2 peak. Guess this is becoming a thing on my charts

thanks so much for all comments

    week 49/2015 – 3 december 2015 Hello Nightwish!

    • Singles Top40

The finnish symphonic metal band Nightwish visited Switzerland on their Endless Forms Most Beautiful World Tour last saturday, and i obviously attended the show. And as always when i attend a concert, it has a big influence on the charts this week, as the band has seven entries in the Top40, with six of them being new or re-entries. The only song that was already on the charts a week ago is „Élan“, which is the lead single of their eighth and current album „Endless Forms Most Beautiful“, and shoots up 25-1, getting a sixth week at number one and extending the lead as the longest running number one single of 2015. Their second highest entry is „Ever Dream“, which was released as a single from the album „Century Child“ back in 2001. The song didn’t make it onto my charts yet and so it’s a new entry at #5, followed by their most popular single „Nemo“ which is their third highest entry this week at #10. The beautiful ballad „Sleeping Sun“ re-enters the charts at #12, while „Storytime“ – the lead single of „Imaginaerum“ from 2011 – is back at #16. Last but not least, the two songs „The Islander“ (#35) and „Amaranth“ (#37), which is the longest running number one single of all time, are back as well, despite being not played on the concert.

Even apart from Nightwish there was some action going on this week, as only four Top10 entries from last week are still there. South Korean superstar and 2NE1 frontwoman CL released a solo single called „Hello Bitches“, which makes a surprising high start at #2. Another asian act – The Sam Willows from Singapore – debut at #9 with „Take Heart“, which was an entry on last months Forum Song Contest. Norwegian singer Julie Bergan makes her very first entry at #23 with „All Hours“, Carly Rae Jepsen’s first christmas single „Last Christmas“ starts at #28 and former UK X-Factor contestant Fleur East gets a last entry with her debut single „Sax“ at #29.

Adele gets a sixth week in the Top3, as „Hello“ decreases 1-3. Justin Bieber remains strong as well, as „Sorry“ slips 2-4 in its sixth week on the charts. „Black & Blue“ by Guy Sebastian (3-6) and Zara Larsson’s „Never Forget You“ (4-8) are the only remaining song from the Top10 a week ago. There’s one last entry in that territory that didn’t get a mention so far and it’s Selena Gomez‘ „Same Old Love“. While she just announced „Hands To Myself“ as the upcoming third single of her album „Revival“, the second single climbs back into the Top10 due to her great performance at the American Music Awards (11-7).

Six tracks fall out of the Top10 this week, but all of them remain in the Top20. „Your Type“ by Carly Rae Jepsen (6-17) and Bastian Baker’s „Tattoo On My Brain“ (9-20) fall the most, while Gwen Stefani’s drop for „Used To Love You“ (8-11) and the decrease for Zara Larsson’s „Lush Life“ (10-13) aren‘t that big. After a very good 10-weeks-run in the upper half, Blackmore’s Night leave the Top20 for the first time with their hit „Will O‘ The Wisp“ (17-22). There are some other big drops due to a lot of new and re-entries. Charlie Puth leaves the Top20 for the first time as well with a big tumble as „Marvin Gaye“ is down 19-30, Lady GaGa’s moving ballad „Til It Happens To You“ showed some great longevity so far but descends 22-36 this week while Adam Lambert drops 16-40 with „Another Lonely Night“.

Nightwish’s „Élan“ is the biggest climber while „Another Lonely Night“ by Adam Lambert is the biggest loser this week.

Nightwish makes a big impact on the Album Top20 as well, with their current album „Endless Forms Most Beautiful“ leaping 13-1, getting a tenth week at number one. This makes them the only artist to have two albums with ten or more weeks on top of the charts, as the previous album „Imaginaerum“ spent ten weeks on top as well. It’s also the first year to have an album with ten weeks or more at #1 since 2012 when Lana Del Rey spent 12 non-consecutive weeks at #1.

The already mentioned „Imaginaerum“ gets the biggest boost from their older albums, as it returns at #4. Their sixth album „Dark Passion Play“ is back at #5 which is a new peak for the set. It was originally released in 2007, but my album charts only started in 2010, that’s also why it never peaked higher so far. „Century Child“, which already made a surprisingly big impact on the charts earlier this year, is back at #7, with „Once“ re-entering the charts at #10 – so they own half of the Top10. But it’s not finish yet, as the two albums „Wishmaster“ (#15) and „Oceanborn“ (#17) make a comeback as well. Their debut „Angels Fall First“ is the only album which is missing now.

Adele’s „25“ slips 1-2, followed by another new entry. The swiss band Anna Rossinelli already had a surprisingly successful hit on the singles charts this year with „Bang Bang Bang“, which became their first Top10 notation. Their third album „Takes Two To Tango“, which was released last friday, makes a for the band impressive debut as well at #3, outpeaking their last album „Marylou“, which peaked at #5 due to its re-release called „Marylou Two“. Ellie Goulding’s „Delirium“ is down 2-6, Inna’s self-titled album drop 3-8 and Selena Gomez‘ „Revival“ returns to the Top10 (11-9).

Due to Nightwish’s army, lots of albums lose lots of positions. Lena’s „Crystal Sky“ has a pretty mild drop by going down 6-11, followed by „All Our Yesterdays“ by Blackmore’s Night, which leaves the Top10 for the very first time after ten week (8-12). Justin Bieber’s „Purpose“ (4-13), Jaël’s „Shuffle The Cards“ (7-14) and Anastacia’s „Ultimate Collection“ (10-16) all lose some positions as well, but the biggest drops goes to Enya as her „Dark Sky Island“ tumbles 5-19 and Carrie Underwood, whose down 9-20 with „Storyteller“.

I took you up on your "Never Forget You" recommendation. Some parts of the song were terrific; others, like the dubstep chorus, fell flat for me. Overall, it's okay, I'd say.

"Hello" is still the best song on your chart. As for "Sorry", so many people around me seem to be loving it that it's having a positive impact on me. Maybe it'll grow on me enough to include it in my finalized year-end songs list.

It's been ages since I heard your #1. It's not bad! It's better than I remembered it actually.

I would like to check out CL with "Hello Bitches", but I can't find it on Spotify or other services here :(

"Amaranth" is on of my fave Nightwish tracks ever!

Teach me how to stan for Nightwish again, please!!!!

Lena & Coldplay are already out! Hopefully, they will come back ;) Also that drop for Adam's latest single is tragic but I like it that Selena's "Same Old Love" was able to rise again although it had to compete against that NW madness

Wow, I didn't expect Nightwish to suddenly get such a strong week, but maybe I should have if I had known you were going to see them in concert? Yeah, "Élan":s chart run now looks incredible, will be interesting to see if it stays high for a while or if the "concert effect" wears off relatively quickly. I do know the effect that seeing a favourite artist live can have on one's listening, although in my case it never had a dramatic effect on my chart any single week, partly because I don't allow old songs to chart and partly because the artist in question tended to already occupy the entire top ten so the effect was invisible .

I listened to your new entries (including "Ever Dream" before realizing it wasn't new). "Hello Bitches" didn't do much for me, but "Take Heart" sounded pretty good. I don't think I've heard of The Sam Willows before. Should I listen to the entire album?

I didn't know Anna Rossinelli was considered a band (now?). I listened to the album and it wasn't bad but I didn't really connect with it. At least they had great variety in their album/single covers in the Marylou era . I definitely prefer Jaël's album (thanks for the pronunciation link!).

No problem! Glad you still like the entries you've mentioned
Haha interested to hear what you will think about these if you'll check them out. Not sure if you will like Nightwish

Oh... i'm sorry but i have to disappoint you when it comes to "Your Type" as its drop will be even worse this week
But "Storyteller" shouldn't leave the album charts soon

Thanks for checking it out, even if you weren't that impressed by it! But you're not the first one whose not a big fan of the dubstep part... but even both artists admitted their inspiration behind that song was "Where Are Ü Now"...

"Sorry" is huge for me, same for "Hello". Adele's song is obviously better, but i'm really positively surprised about Bieber and can't wait to see his final position on your YEC
Glad to hear "Élan" grew on you since the last time you've listened to it!

Do you use Apple Music? I've found it there...

Oh that's great because it's probably my most favorite track by them! Also i didn't know you actually like them

No idea... i would recommend to attend a concert of them but you already did that even 1-2 weeks before me so no more ideas

Both will have a re-entry this week, and one of them a pretty high one, don't worry. SOL shows amazing longevity and i'd say it's one of her best songs ever so far these days

I also have to say they're my favorite band and i'm a big fan for 11 years now, so going to a concert by them is like a big thing for me
"Élan" will have another great week, but will probably start to drop fast again soon. I'm also going to see Madonna this saturday and she's currently nowhere near on my charts so i'm excited by myself to see if she can get a high re-entry with her current album or not...

Glad you checked these out! Not surprised you're not a big fan of CL's song, and i'm sorry but i can't give you a reply about The Sam Willows as i don't know more than that one song.

They were always a band - a trio to be exact. Anna's the 'face' of the band and the lead singer, but they always went with her name for the whole trio, no idea why. Haha yeah the single/album covers could have been better. I like it, but one of them would have been enough
