I have entered another BS stan phase. I bought Human Touch today on CD.

He is a genius and very very underrated on UKMIX. One of the last great legends alive.

Sounds good, The River has been in desperate need for a remaster, it's been the same CD master that's been on the market for 30 years

Saw him earlier tonight. First time seeing him live, total phenomenon in concert. I literally did not expect him at his age to be crowdsurfing. His stature as one of the definitive live artists to see is well deserved.

I would have seen him live too if resales were not $2000

lol... that happened to Madonna when I saw her. She accidentally said Tulsa (which had been the previous stop) and then spent three minutes backtracking and apologizing.

Then again, I doubt anyone was that offended, Bruce isn't a half-ass entertainer. He completely gives everything he has to give and then some I've always enjoyed his work, but it is true that he's one of those artists that must be experienced live to truly understand why he has the stature he has.

I started reading his autobiography this morning... very nice stuff so far. Compared to some of the more superficial celebrity tell-alls, his is very detailed and confessional. So far I've read about his childhood and family, its really nice to hear his story from the man who lived it instead of all the endless third-person bios.

What is everyone's favorite Springsteen song?

My favorite is "I'm Goin Down" from his 1984 record "Born In The U.S.A.".

As for favorite album... I am not quite sure, but 'The River' and 'Nebraska' are probably his best albums for me.

Impossible to choose just one :( Streets Of Philadelphia, Darkness On the Edge Of Town, Johnny 99 and Glory Days are some of my favorites.

Bruce Springsteen Promises New E Street Band Album, 2020 Tour

In a new interview with Italian newspaper la Repubblica, Bruce Springsteen has elaborated on his future plans for the E Street Band. “We will go on tour next year,” he said. “I’ll record with the E Street Band in autumn and, when we are done, we’ll go on tour. Of course I’ll come to Rome. I love it.”

Earlier this month, Springsteen told Martin Scorsese about creating these new E Street Band songs. “I’ve spent about seven years without writing anything for the band,” Springsteen said. “I couldn’t write anything for the band. And I said, ‘Well, of course … you’ll never be able to do that again!’ And it’s a trick every time you do it, you know? But it’s a trick that, because of that fact that you can’t explain, cannot be self-consciously duplicated. It has to come to you in inspiration.”

But a month before the interview, inspiration came very suddenly. “It just came out of almost nowhere,” he said. “And it was good, you know. I had about two weeks of those little daily visitations, and it was so nice. It makes you so happy. You go, ‘Fuck, I’m not fucked, all right? There’ll be another tour!”

Bruce Springsteen hasn’t recorded a new album with the E Street Band since High Hopes in 2014, but those songs were all written during prior recording projects. Their last album of new material was 2009’s Working on a Dream. They haven’t played a show together since the end of The River tour in early 2017.

All of this E Street Band news comes just as Springsteen is about to release his 1960s California pop-inspired LP Western Stars. The album comes out on June 14th, though the singles “Hello Sunshine” and “There Goes My Miracle” have already been released. “We also filmed a documentary which includes the whole recording process, from the beginning to the end, at my house,” Springsteen told la Repubblica. “The album is made up of a lot of small stories that take place in the West of the United States.”

Bruce Springsteen Rarities Highlight ‘Blinded By the Light’ Soundtrack

Unreleased studio version of “I’ll Stand By You,” rare live renditions of “The River” and “The Promised Land” and greatest hits fill out coming-of-age film’s companion album

A handful of Bruce Springsteen rarities, including the unreleased studio rendition of “I’ll Stand By You,” highlight the soundtrack for the upcoming film Blinded By the Light.

Springsteen initially penned “I’ll Stand By You” – previously known as “I’ll Stand By You Always” – for inclusion in the 2001 film Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, but producers opted not to include the contemporary ballad and the song remained unreleased.

“It was something that I thought would have fit lovely [in the movies],” Springsteen said of the track, which leaked in 2017. “At some point I’d like to get [‘I’ll Stand By You Always’] into a children’s movie of some sort. It was a pretty lovely song.”

The song has finally found a home – and its first official release – on the soundtrack for Blinded By the Light, a coming-of-age, based-on-a-true-story film about a British teen of Pakistani descent in 1987 London whose life is transformed by Springsteen’s music.

In addition to “I’ll Stand By You” and Springsteen classics like “Badlands,” “Hungry Heart” and “Thunder Road,” the soundtrack boasts two more live rarities: The first ever performance of “The River,” from the No Nukes ’79 concert at Madison Square Garden, and an acoustic rendition of ” The Promised Land” that Springsteen performed in 2014 at Washington, D.C.’s National Mall. Both live songs were previously unavailable on any album.

Filling out the soundtrack are of-the-era singles by a-ha and Pet Shop Boys and music from Blinded By the Light‘s composer A.R. Rahman. The Blinded By the Light soundtrack – available to preorder now – is due out August 9th, with the film to follow on August 14th.
