    Can't wait.

I am actually surprised by how much I enjoy The Sting (the single) after Sweeter in History - which was a bit of a let down.
I think this girl is one the artist with more potential from her generation. Her voice is just incredible.

I agree. Her voice gets better album to album.

And this album is shaping up really good.

Have you listened to Vicious Love yet?

Really looking foward to this new album.
I think her "commercial phase" is over but I'm sure she'll still bring something really special.
I love her description of her inspiration for the new material so I can't wait for more.
Happy endings are just stories that haven't finished yet...

According to the pre-order of the new single, she's signed to Sweetness Tunes Ltd.

Is that her own label? So she's independent now :-?

Anyway I hope both album and single chart.

Gabriella Cilmi partners with Absolute for independent release of new album

Gabriella Cilmi has partnered with Absolute Marketing & Distribution for the independent release of her third album The Sting on October 28.

The Australian-Italian singer-songwriter, whose 2008 single Sweet About Me became an international hit, was previously signed to Island Records. Her new album will be released on her own UK-based imprint Sweetness Tunes and will be preceded by the title track on September 2. Live dates will follow in the autumn.

She said of the new partnership: Absolute have helped put together a perfect team to release my next record. They have been great to work with and I'm looking forward to getting stuck into my campaign.

Mark Dowling, marketing director, Absolute Marketing said: We are excited that Gabriella and [her manager] Jeni chose Absolute to partner with on their new album campaign. The albums sound and imagery ooze class and style enabling us to structure a very broad campaign around the album and we cant wait to get started.

At the age of 16, Cilmi came to prominence with the hit single Sweet About Me that sold over 2 million copies, went Top 10 in 16 countries, spent 37 consecutive weeks in the UK singles chart, and garnered over 27 million views.

Her debut album Lessons To Be Learned went Top 10 in a 12 countries, sold one million copies, and she played Glastonburys Pyramid Stage in 2009.

this sounds amazing! Did not expect it to be as good as this. This surpasses 'Ten' by miles. Does anyone else think at time she sounds like Macy Gray?

I know. I guess she was expecting to have built more hype about the album by now.
    Have you heard it Mike?

I was really surprised by how good this was. But then again I wonder why; her other two albums were both pretty much brilliant from start to finish too. Even the much-maligned Ten was just hit after hit, it's just a curse amazing pop albums suffer from. My only complaint is that the new version of Vicious Love is a bit overdone.

I need to give this album some more spins probably. As for the first 2-3 listens there's no outstanding track except "Symmetry" for me. But there's also at least no bad song on "The Sting".

Despite ordering the physical copy i got "Deep Water" too when i loaded the CD on my PC and this track is actually also pretty good!
