    Thanks steophonic

Good news is that Madonna, Ed Sheeran and Kygo aren't going anywhere for another week. It's gonna be a particularly great week for one of these artists.

Yes it really is flawless. I'm so happy this is becoming a bonafide hit in the UK. Would be delighted to see Kygo & Whitney making the UK top 10 eventually.

As for Shawn Mendes, this is quite comfortably my favourite single he's released yet. Camila's vocals also work a treat on the song. I adore the sexy sensual vibes of the song - like a summer romance style song.

Will Young has indeed held up nicely although my new chart is gonna have quite a shake up thanks to new releases (both singles and videos) towards the latter end of this week.

After two consecutive weeks at #2 in germany, "Senorita" finally hit #1! - It's indeed a bit "summer romance"ish.

I really do miss Whitney. her voice was beyond amazing and I'm glad that it's becoming a hit in the UK! Well-deserved!

I do like Mad love but it's not a song a truly love. That's why Finders keepers was a #1 for me.

Ohh wow that's impressive for Shawn Mendes. Is this his first #1 in Germany? I don't follow the german charts that closely to know otherwise.

Totally agree that Whitney Houston was in a completely different league - up there with only the elite of amazing female singers.

03 (NE) Charli XCX & Christine And The Queens - Gone - seems like this one is well received by UKMixers. Initially I loved it, but after some spins I am already over it somehow.
05 (NE) Sofi Tukker - Swing - this is quite quirky and memorable. Also their styling in the music video is reminiscent of a Tekken-like fighting video games.
06 (NE) Sam Smith - How do you sleep? - I've enjoyed the music video.

Yeah, "sadly" it's his first #1 single. We ain't the Netherlands in which each of his single is smashing

He entered the Top 10 before, though:
    #2 Stitches
    #4 Treat You Better
#5 There's Nothing Holding Me Back
    #8 In My Blood

That #6 debut for Sam's "How Do You Sleep?" is really unfortunate but given the fact that it just got released yesterday, it's also very impressive at the same time!

Divinde Top 2 and I love to see Freya Ridings on your chart as well!- Avril's latest single isn't bad either... when it comes to "Batuka".. oh well, great music video but the song ain't my cup of tea at all.

I only discovered Gone following the release of the music video. It was instant love for me, i especially love the production on the track.

Sofi Tukker are quite quirky in general. There's certainly no other act around i can think of who are like thes guys. Best friend became such an earworm and #1 hit for me last year. Swing is another infectious dance track.

The music video for How do you sleep? really boosted the song hence its impressive entry at #6 after just 24 hours. It's looking set to climb into my top 5 tonight. Also Sam somehow looks decent in the video. I can't say i find him sexually attractive but i'm loving his rather camp and flamboyant style.

Interesting to see the success rate for Shawn in Germany. The only thing i've become aware of in the last year is the success of german rapper Capital Bra. Not that his music appeals to me but he seems to have a new #1 in Germany almost every month.

Sam Smith did incredibly well to get as high as #6 in just 24 hours. Granted, other singles have gone top 5 (even #1 on several occasions) but the top 5 was quite comfortably ahead from earlier in the week. Safe to say Sam Smith is set for a new peak tonight.

Yes that top 2 combination of Higher love and Señorita is exquisite. <3

Freya Ridings is enjoying some strong longevity and i'm so happy Castles is becoming a bonafide chart hit in the UK.

Avril Lavigne's boost came from the music video release although i didn't think the video was anything remarkable - it was beautifully shot but lacking any excitement. It did however bring the song back to my attention as i'd not listened to the song for a while.

LOL well when i first checked out the Madame X album track previews on iTunes, i have to admit Batuka was one of the few tracks that didn't impact me at all. So its entry last week was purely based on the music video getting released. It's still not made me want to revisit the song itself though and is pretty much guaranteed to exit my chart tonight.

I just checked out "Dance Monkey" and "Gone". The former was good, and the latter was decent.

I'm most happy that "Higher Love" is doing so well here. Whitney's voice is still the greatest of all-time, so getting to hear it alongside a peppy, uptempo dance beat just works wonders for me.

I don't think I quite grasp why people love "Truth Hurts" connects with so many people. I think it's just okay by Lizzo's standards.

I did. Maluma's appearance was the highlight for me.
    Thanks Akini

Ohh so you hadn't already heard Gone? To be fair, i only discovered the track thanks to YouTube as the music video was trending upon its release. I do love those fizzy synth sounds in gloriously pure pop music. <3

Tones and I have seemingly skyrocketed with the success of Dance monkey co-incidentally in both Australia and Sweden where the song has taken big climbs up their respective charts. I even think it's got a very good chance of climbing to #1 even though Señorita is still so strong right now.

Aww i truly love Higher love and Kygo really did Whitney proud with delicious production that really elevates Whitney's unmistakeable vocals. I randomly found myself watching this on Saturday morning on YouTube. So adorable yet so tragic to think both Whitney and Bobbi are no longer with us.

I know we can't really compare them but for me Higher love is a bit like having a modern day I wanna dance with somebody. If Whitney was still alive and still being her iconic self there's every possibility that she may well have ended up recording a track like this anyways. <3

Truth hurts left me so conflicted. I considered entering the song a couple of weeks back but decided against it because it is technically an older single that's become popular thanks to those dna test memes. Since then Lizzo has cracked the UK top 40 and bizarrely this is now performing better in the UK charts than Juice did, and that feels kinda unjustified imo. Then i spotted Lizzo at #1 on US iTunes last week and apparently this has been added onto Lizzo's latest album on Spotify. I will admit, i much prefer Juice which still ranks as my #1 of 2019 so far (exclusive JakeP year end spoiler right there).

LOL hey, i'm pretty sure you weren't the only one who was only there for Maluma. Do you consider Maluma as a more handsome and sexier version of Drake? (or is it just me who thinks this)

Love to see "How Do You Sleep" rise! - Personally, I'm addicted to it. I'm listening to it a few times on a daily basis now and according to my last.fm, it's already my second most listened track from 2019 haha.

"Castles" is also becoming a hit here in Germany (it's being played on the radio a few times a day now xD - Didn't know why that girl is famous all of a sudden but I won't complain. What a voice!)

"Lacking excitement" perfectly fits Avril's career. I love some Avril but she has never really caught my attention.

Taylor's "The Archer" is simply "Meh" if you ask me.

    Thanks Mainshow

The climb for Sam Smith was inevitable considering how high it got with the 24 hour effect. It's looking set for another strong week but won't be challenging for #1. Gosh at that last.fm stat. So which song currently tops your most listened to song of 2019? Would that be Arcade by any chance?

Ohh wow that's impressive for Freya Ridings if she's starting to breakthrough across europe. I totally agree though, Freya has got such a distinctive vocal tone. <3

LOL ouch @ that Avril comment. Personally i think Avril showed amazing promise when she first started out with Let go and singles like Complicated and I'm with you. I do feel like Avril regressed a lot particularly in the latter 00s and early 10s. Her music ironically became more immature as she got older! Shame though because i still regard Head above water as one of Avril's best ever singles but if just seemed like nobody was here for serious Avril. (well, apart from a select few on UK Mix)

I'm still shocked at how badly received this whole new Taylor Swift campaign has started. ME! got heavily slated, then You need to calm down failed to ignite much interest, then that Cats movie trailer got slated and now people aren't even here for The architect even though its a more serious side to Taylor. Poor girl can't get anything right in 2019. Watch her next tour become the highest grossing of all time in 2020.

    Thanks heppolo

Yes it's definitely got an infectious quality. I would love to see Dance monkey become a big worldwide hit. Judging from the scandinavian countries, this is looking set to be very popular in the coming weeks.
