Sounds a lot like something Pointer Sisters would've done when they did more rock-oriented material... not a shocker because Richard Perry produced it who also produced all their big hits. The lead guitarist Robbie McIntosh had some success playing in the second incarnation of Pretenders in the mid-80s and then also worked with McCartney in the 90s.

U are right , it peaked at 17 in US , I like a lot Stevie's voice , she's great and she did backing vocals for many artists as Elton John , Wham , Swing out sister , Tears for fears and many other. Lately she has been working as vocal coach for Sophie Ellis Bextor , Robbie Williams etc...
